Ebay item 3/3/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-Manual-Series-1-5_W0QQitemZ120538 ...
Opening bid $2,500 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Get a hobby all at once - 1968 E-type 4.2 2+2 manual transmission car (the yellowish one), rotted floors, inner and outer sills, trunk, etc., but all parts here. Seats, all interior parts, etc. - of course everyhting is in need of restoration. Included with sale will be a 1967 2+2 body shell that had floors, trunk floor, lower quarters, outer sills, sill stiffeners, sill end plates and I don't remember what else replaced about 10 years ago then sat, hence the surface rust.

The 1968 car has all its parts, albeit much rotten - but with the additional 1967 shell (for which there is a title) you'll also get bonnet parts (center section, fenders) for both a series one and the rarer series 1.5, one possibly usable belly pan, one set of bonnet ducts, chrome headlight trim for both series 1 and 1.5 (the 1.5 is used, the other N.O.S. including headlight cover glass and rubbers). I think ther are two pairs of sugar scoops. Three doors for the 1967 shell, two of which are really good, also a rear hatch. An extra set of wire wheels (series 2, I think). Somewhere I've got a series 2 knockoff adapter, and a newly refinished steering wheel (in addition to the one without wood in the photo).

In short, you're getting all of my E-type stuff - enough to build a manual transmission 2+2 with bunch of dedication. A complete, but in bits 1968 without title, and a 1967 shell with title that is useable after blasting, filling, bodywork. etc. Enough glass to complete a car with leftover door and side glass... who knows what else. The motor in the '68 (4.2L, dual strombergs) hasn't been turned over since about 1997 - had about 80K when parked in 1985, but I'm sure it's in need of at least disassembly, rings, etc. Clutch was good. Rear center section was rebuilt years ago, but if my memory serves, one of the (outer?) universals was on its way out when I parked it.

So, buy my E-type stuff so I can dump more money into my Mark X... I've tried to paint an honest picture of this stuff, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

'68 will roll, '67 is on a wooden frame w/casters, but would probably need to go on a flatbed or enclosed trailer.

VIN for '67 is 1E75543

VIN for '68 is 1E78519

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
