This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I 2+2 coupe that was purchased new by the owner’s late father. The car reportedly underwent multi-year refurbishment work that included refinishing the body in metallic green over black upholstery. Power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt push-button radio. The owner acquired the car in May 2023 and it is now offered on their behalf with spare and removed parts, a tool kit, repair manuals, a Jaguar Heritage Trust paint code certificate, original purchase paperwork, service records dating back to 1967, and a clean California title.
The car was finished from the factory in Opalescent Dark Green, and the body was reportedly repaired and repainted during refurbishment work that began in the mid-1990s and was completed in 2015. Exterior details include covered headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, split chrome bumpers with bumper guards, three windshield wipers, a driver-side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, a side-hinged rear hatch, and exhaust outlets mounted centrally. A paint chip is noted on the hood and the seller states the driver’s door release sticks intermittently.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires showing 2012 date codes. The car is equipped with fully independent suspension and braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin is equipped with front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black leather, along with a color-coordinated dash pad, door panels, and carpets. The front seats have reportedly been reupholstered and appointments include three-point front seat belts, a cabin heater, a locking glove compartment, dash-mounted toggle switches, and a Blaupunkt push-button radio.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a 160-mph Smiths speedometer, a tachometer with an inset analog clock, and centrally mounted auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features dual-overhead camshafts and triple SU carburetors. Lower radiator hoses were reportedly replaced and coolant flushed in October 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and the differential was revised with 3.07:1 gears. Transmission gear whine is present.
Repair manuals, a Jaguar Heritage Trust paint code certificate, service records dating back to 1967, and original purchase paperwork are included in the sale. The Motor Vehicle Purchase Order from San Jose British Motor Cars lists a $6,305 total cash price.
