Ebay item 9/6/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $11,101, no reservve, 2 bids, 5 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Offered is a 1967 Jaguar XKE Custom Convertible. It started life as a coupe back in 67 however was painstakingly modified into a convertible many years ago. It has the 4.2 liter 6 cylinder engine with 3 single SU carburetors. Transmission is automatic, steering, brakes and windows are manual. Options include telescopic wood steering wheel, covered headlights, 4-wheel disc brakes, chrome spoke wheels, leather interior and AM/FM cassette. The convertible top is a fold down cloth top.
Condition
This XKE is in basic everyday driver condition. It runs, drives and looks good however has flaws like you would expect from a driver quality vehicle. I will try my best to describe the obvious flaws however, if I fail to mention something, consider it to be in average condition taking the year of the vehicle into consideration.
Paint is British racing green with a nice shine and is presentable however does have chips and imperfections. The vehicle was originally red and was repainted green during the conversion. Some of the green is peeling off of the frame and floor pan under the vehicle.
Body is straight with the exception of a small dent near the left rear bumper guard. There are a few minor door dings, but no major damage other than the dent described above. The only rust I could find was a few small rust bubbles in the driver’s side door jamb.
Chrome is nice with no rust or peeling just minor scratching from years of washing and polishing. The left rear bumper guard chrome is starting to peel. The wire wheels have been cleaned up but have pitting from prior rust. One of the wheels has some broken spokes but two extra wire wheels will be included. Tires are Pirelli P300 and are 50% or better. Windshield is in nice condition as well as the headlight covers and lenses. The right rear tail light lens is broken.
Interior is in good driver condition. Seats are black leather and are in good shape other than scrapes on the upper sides due to the convertible top mechanism and some wear on the upper part of the drivers seat. Dash is cracked however the wood steering wheel is not. Carpet and door panels are in good shape. The fold down convertible top is cloth and has a small tear on each side.
The engine runs good and has only 70,000 actual miles. Modifications include a Delco alternator charging system and electric fuel pump located in the trunk. There is a small oil leak from the timing chain cover.
Take this opportunity to get a hold of a ready to drive XKE convertible at a very reasonable price. Remember this is a no reserve auction, high bidder wins!

Current bid $13,050 reserve not met, 10 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1967 Jaguar XKE series 1 roadster finished in British Racing Green sporting a black leather interior. This car actually started life as a coupe back in 67, but was painstakingly modified with all factory steel components many years ago during a restoration. It has the 4.2 liter 6 cylinder twin cam engine with triple SU carburettors and 265 rated horsepower. The engine number matches the car, as does the automatic transmission. This series 1 car has telescopic steering wheel, covered headlights, chrome spoked rims, am/fm cd player, and 4 wheel disc brakes. The top is a fold-down cloth top. This XKE is better than average condition, but does get used like a daily driver during the summer months; It runs, drives, and looks good, but does have some chips in the finish as one would expect from a 42 year old driver quality vehicle. The paint has a nice shine and is very presentable, but I have noticed a couple paint bubbles in the front wheel arches and driver door. The car was originally red, but refinished to BRG during the conversion. The body is straight with the exception of a small dent near the left rear bumper guard and a couple door dings. Chrome is in nice condition except for the left rear bumper guard as mentioned above, and I have 2 spare rims also. Tires are Pirelli P300 with respectable tread, the glass is all in great shape, including the headlight covers. The car is a wonderful driver on the road, very well mannered and smooth and quiet.
Interior is in nice condition, with 1 crack on the upper dash cover above the choke lever( I believe new pads are available for approx. $140.00), The black leather seats are in nice shape with some scrapes from the convertible top mechanism. The steering wheel is uncracked, carpet and door panels are are in good shape. The rear plastic window on the canvas convertible top is clear. The engine runs very smoothly and performs nicely, the carburettors have been pretty much trouble free. The only modifications are a delco alternator and an electric fuel pump mounted in the trunk.
This is an opportunity to get a nice XKE driver that is ready-to-drive and enjoy, and at a reasonable price. Our location is in northeast NC, just south of Virginia Beach, VA.

Car returns to ebay 3/21/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/67-Jaguar-E-type-roadster-conversion-automatic-/16056219 ...
Current bid $10,010, no reserve, 13 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Nice 1967 Jaguar series 1 E-type roadster that I can never find the time to enjoy anymore; I hope someone else will. This car has the 4.2 litre 6 cylinder, triple SU-carburetted motor that is rated at 265 horses, with a consistent compression of 150 psi. It is fitted with a borg-warner 3 speed automatic transmission. The engine runs very well and the carbs have behaved very nicely in the years I have owned the car. The car began life as a 2+2 coupe, but was converted with all steel panels during a prior restoration, when it was painted to it's present Britsh Racing Green. The interior is in very nice condition, the leather is supple and tear-free, the carpets and door panels and related chrome are very nice. All the gauges and electrical works nicely. There is a crack in the dash pad directly above the choke lever (see photos), but the pad is approx. $150 I understand. The steering column is the telescoping unit and works nicely. The tires are Pirelli P300's with approx. 50% tread remaining and give the car a very pleasing and comfortable ride. The 67 E-type is generally considered one of the best years of the car, and this car presents nicely and turns the heads; all the glass is in perfect shape, including the glass covering the headlights. The paint is very glossy and the chrome is still bright, there are a handful of dings on the sides, not very noticable, but do inspect the photos.
The only modifications are a delco alternator and an electric fuel pump mounted in the front of the trunk. This car has no signs of rust or corrosion on the underbody, but I have noted a couple of the usual paint bubbles at the front wheel arch. This car was a northern California/Oregon car until I brought it to North Carolina in 2006. the car really is an excellent driver that is ready to go anywhere, and is quite a comfy driver over the long stretch with its larger cabin as compared to most two seaters of the day. Please feel free to have the car inspected or come and drive her, she will sell herself. I am located in Elizabeth City, NC,
