Sellers comment:
This XKE is a Series 1 with the covered headlamps, and a 4.2 liter, triple carb engine. It has a 4 speed transmission . It is a delight to drive and just needs a little TLC

Vehicle Condition
Everything functions on the car ā€“ Iā€™m unsure of the actual mileage (between 45 ā€“ 55,000 miles). Car was re-painted 11 years ago, chrome is original and in very good condition. Interior is original and needs some TLC, no rips on the seats. Floor pans have been replaced and carbs and radiator have been rebuilt.Engine runs excellent. The wire wheels are in good condition. The car has always been garaged and comes with a car cover.

Write me a note when you get a chance. I live Kitchener - right next door. I have cars:
2r14173 and a 2+2 1e78052. I would like to tear down the 2+2 and was wondering what all your mistakes were so that I don't have to make the same ones. Later.

Opening bid C $5,000. Approximately US $5,042.36 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1966 series1 2+2 e-type project for sale. Car has a clear American title, never registered in Canada. I started this restoration some 5 years ago and have run out of steam. It is a matching numbers car.I have rebuilt/restored 99% of the components with just the body work and engine rebuild left to do.
The engine ran before it was removed and turns freely.
The gearbox has been stripped, cleaned. New seals, new thrust bearing, clutch slave cylinder rebuilt.
The IRS has been fully restored with rebuilt brake calipers by John Farrel, new Girling brake lines, classic jaguar bronze bushings and new shocks, wheel bearings,
and seals.
Master and slave cylinders restored and rebuilt with the correct kits, new Girling brake line kit for the whole car.
New SU fuel pump, triple SU carbs rebuilt and all fuel components overhauled.
All electrical components overhauled/refurbished and tested, new heater box.
New (used) radiator, header tank and new hose kit.
Suspension fully stripped and refurbished, new wheel bearings. 4 Dunlop wheels(series1) with Kleber tires, 2 spare wheels.
Steering rack rebuilt, steering column rebuilt.
New electrical harness, new Conley front seat covers, new underfelt set.
The body needs new outer sills, probably new inner sills, sill end panels on both sides. Both firewall panels will need to be replaced as well and probably one if not both forward floor panels. I have some replacement panels from Martin Roby, the original manufacturer.
The engine frames did have pin holes which i filled and they are self sealing primered. The picture frame i bought used from Classic Jaguar. The bonnet is complete.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
