Seller's description:

This Jaguar was originally delivered to the USA, but has now spent most of its car life in Austria and Europe. In the summer of 1988, its previous German owner brought the E-Type from the USA to Ludwigsburg. In the autumn of the same year, however, he got stranded during a visit to Vienna in the Austrian capital and took this as an opportunity to leave the car here and sell it. From a customs point of view, of course, this was not entirely flawless and resulted in the new owner filing a voluntary declaration. The correspondence with the tax office shows that the E-Type was still in its original condition and still had the first paint job and the first exhaust system. The fault was with the electrics and was quickly rectified. At the beginning of 1989, the customs issue was settled and the E-Type was finally registered in September.

It was not until 2011 that he parted with his Jaguar and sold it to the current owner. In the meantime, only the paintwork in the original British Racing Green had been renewed, everything else was conserved, cherished and cared for. The original interior with its beige leather seating has also been preserved. Even a long-standing brand specialist who has been servicing the E-Type since then was impressed by the originality and authenticity of this example. Such original specimens have become extremely rare today, but exude all the more charm with their unique charisma. That makes this E-Type a very special one.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
