You are bidding on a 1968 Jaguar XKE E-Type 4.2 (U.S. spec) that has a vintage Ford 289 V-8 engine and automatic transmission installed!!! (Might possibly be a 302 or 351C, I will research block numbers and post an addition to the description later!, but it growls like a big block! I heartlily encourage you to come inspect it in person, as this is coming to you estate and barn fresh! I will try to describe the car as best as possible, and answer any questions intelligibly, but I am not any kind of mechanical genius or even overly familiar with cars in general! As you can see in the pictures, this classic Jag is in need restoration and some TLC, so I am selling it to restore or for an excellent parts car. The engine sounds just fantastic, and really throaty with the true dual exhaust! In addition to the regular gas tank, this car appears to run off of a makeshift gas tank, and gas delivery is intermittent, and sometimes you have to pour gas into the carb to start engine. IT IS NOT CURRENTLY ROADWORTHY, and will need to be trailered to get to its new home! The condition of the transmission and brakes is unknown, however the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor when depressed, which is why I haven't attempted to put it in gear. (I may try to see if brake fluid is low) Hood does not close fully, although I have not tried to force it closed. Original wire wheels and hubs. The vehicle has rust as pictured, but is mostly presentable. The interior needs serious help, but all gauges and hardware appears to be present. Will need new upholstery. Some additional parts and trim are in the "trunk". As I stated earlier, an in person inspection is best. At any rate, the car has lots of potential either to restore or for parts, and with that big Ford V-8 will absolutely FLY, and be easier to maintain and get parts for! At any rate, it is being sold with NO RESERVE, although I will consider ending the auction early for a fair, but generous cash offer. Sold with last registration and bill of sale. New Hampshire does not require titles on vehicles older than 15 years. You can get a New Hampshire Title with last registration and bill of sale on a collectable car so if necessary we can assist you with that for the cost incurred. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding!
