Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar 2+2 Coupe for sale. It has 62106 miles on the Odometer, its unknown if those are actual miles. I can tell you I bought it in 2010 in from the son of the prior owner in Wichita Kansas. His Father purchased it 20 years earlier from the Denver Colorado area. It has been certified to have matching numbers and the color of exterior and interior is the same as it was built. It has been garaged most of its life, and has very little rust. Main issues are a small area on the front of the drivers side floor, and a little bit over the rear wheel arches. My plan was to do a rolling restoration and drive it. I have built a new alloy cooling system, rebuilt the distributor, converted it to electronic ignition, rebuilt the stromberg carbs and modified them to use adjustable jets. I have not started the engine since this work. The engine does turn over and has good compression so I do expect it to run well. The cam covers have been off and the engine looks very clean inside. Car is a very rare model and has factory air .
Fuel System has been gone through
Carbs rebuilt with adjustable jets
Distributor Rebuilt with 1967 advance curve and vacuum advance
Custom radiator w/ new hoses and clamps
Paint is good and shines fairly well, there is some evidence of some minor accident repairs, but the car is straight. Carpets have been lost and need to be replaced. Leather interior looks new and over all the interior looks pretty good. Please see listing in XKE data site for further info xkedata dot com, search for car=1E78377.

Car was at auction in France 2/14
www.bonhams.com/auctions/21768/lot/372/
Auction description:
Lot 372
1968 Jaguar Type E 4.2-Litre série 1½ coupé 2+2
Sold for €49,450 (US$ 67,746) inc. premium
Chassis no. 1E78377
Engine no. 7E54673-9
Manufactured in 1968 during this transitional period, this 'Series 1½' 2+2 Coupé was delivered new in Denver, Colorado, USA and originally finished in opalescent maroon with matching interior, its present colour scheme. It then spent some decades in Wichita, Kansas before being purchased for the current (fourth) owner's private collection in Germany. During 2012/2013 extensive works were undertaken to bring the car to its present excellent condition, including a repaint in original livery and the replacement of numerous mechanical and other parts. Around €35,000 was spent, as evidenced by bills on file, and since completion the E-Type has covered only some 1,500 kilometres. Accompanying documentation consists of the aforementioned bills; a selection of restoration photographs; an illustrated professional condition report (dated March 2013); and German TüV and Fahrzeugbrief.
