Ebay item 2/27/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-Coupe-4-2L-XKE-4-Speed-A-C-Estate-Coll ...
Current bid $10,000 reserve not met, 8 bids, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This Jaguar was purchased from an estate in Oklahoma when it has been stored for several years. We purchased the Jaguar with intentions of completing a full restoration but have a few to many at this time. We have completed a tune-up and have the XKE running nicely. The brakes & transmission has also been recently serviced. New items include; battery, ignition coil, intake gasket, master brake cylinder, slave cylinder, brake lines & hoses, fuel filter, and a re-built clutch. We are offering it for sale in hopes that someone with less current projects may purchase and complete as they see fit. If it does not sell it will be completed in-house and offered for sale later in the year with a MUCH higher reserve.

The interior and exterior have notable imperfections and this XKE is in good overall condition. The restoration looks to have been done several years ago and the car has been in storage for at least the last 15 years. To reach it's full show potential this 2+2 should be completely repainted. The A/C components are present but not working at this time. This Jaguar is a great candidate for restoration because it is running, straight and complete. If not interested in restoring, it should be purchased to drive, enjoy and watch appreciate with each passing day.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
