    Ebay item 5/6/07
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1969-Jaguar-XKE-Roadster-Series-II-with-fa ...
Current bid $5,000 reserve not met, 1 bid, 9 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE Roadster Series II with matching #'s, factory A/C, 2 tops (convertible & factory hardtop), 4 speed trans and wire wheels. I brought this car 30 years ago from the original owner in 1977 with 38,000 miles. It had minor scratches and some checking in the original paint so I had the car completely stripped and repainted in its original color of sabel brown lacquer. The bonnet had a couple of minor creases which had been repaired before. I was able to notice this when the paint was stripped but other than those minor imperfections, the bonnet was in great shape (which is unusual) as was the rest of the sheet metal. The paint was then wet sanded and compounded and the bumpers and guards were all rechromed. The 4.2 liter engine cyclinders were then shot with oil and the car was put up on blocks untill I'd have the time to finish it. YOU GUESTED IT! IT'S STILL THERE TODAY! You know those projects that you are going to get to next year.

A few years ago I thought was the time to finish my project so I bought new parts which I still didn't get to so included in this sale is a complete new tan European leather interior (still in the box in plastic) with all new carpeting, door panels, kick panels, console, dashboard and trunk interior. Also included and never installed is a new fuel pump, spark plugs, clutch slave cyclinder, front exhaust pipes and the complete rubber bumper trim package for front and rear bumpers.

So as not to mislead anyone, after 30 years of sitting, I am not sure of what works or doesn't work anymore. So I guest the best thing for me to say is that you should consider this a complete restoration project. The paint has a great shine and is still servicable with a few exceptions of small chips and flaws which can easily be touched up. The wire wheels are original but old and should really be replaced. The Pirelli tires are in great shape but are also old. The chrome which was redone is flaking on some of the pieces and should be renewed and other pieces are okay. There is a small rust spot in the passenger floor panel. This car is basically a good solid vehicle for restoration and has not been beat up and banged around.

16 October 2012, advertised in Australia on Justcars website (justauto.com.au/justcars/). Described as follows: "Original 38,000 miles, in dry storage since 1977. rare factory hardtop plus soft top. Mint, clean straight body in Sable with Tan hardtop, partially apart for restoration. Complete brand new interior kit in original tan leather. The cost of the interior kit is in the $6,000 to $7,000 range, so serious value here which is included with this car. Carefully stored with oil in cylinders, cooling system drained, a/cond. Low serial number, all numbers match. Here now!! Along with a couple of our other E types we have reduced the price on this car to $42,000. Super clean unmolested car, has a couple of small common rust spots, like under the battery box & a couple of small inner rocker panel & front floor spots, but really minimal spots. We have many years experience with these cars & this is an excellent candidate for restoration & as a worthwhile Capital Gains Tax free investment."
