Chassis number 1R10585 - originally a LHD Californian car which arrived in the UK during 2001, the car was converted to RHD by a previous owner prior to the vendor and registered keeper of 16 years taking on ownership. The extensive work that the car has been subjected to is documented within the cars exceptional history file, during his ownership the vendor has had a professional engine rebuild, gearbox and back axle rebuild and bodywork restoration.
The vendor has supplied the following information on the car, "Presented in Jaguar Primrose yellow Paint Code 251 as supplied by Dingbro, and has been in the same ownership for 17 years. The summary of work carried out is as follows. Complete new bonnet as manufactured during 1979 and etched on the inside having been in storage for some 30 years in Somerset, inner and outer sills where fitted by a Jaguar restoration specialist in approximately 2010. The engine was professionally rebuilt in Wales with the Gearbox and Back Axle being rebuilt by Smith Autos when a new clutch assembly was also fitted along with a Stainless Steel exhaust system and performance manifold. The chassis has been Waxoyled every 3 years. The car has been fitted with all new brake pipes and fuel pipes along with new brake pads and hoses. The brake vacuum box has been renewed and the majority of the chrome rechromed during 2011. A new battery was fitted in 2021 and at this time the gearbox and back axle oil was changed. The engine oil is MILLERS 20/50 and was changed in 2021 as was the oil filter and fuel filte. the car has had all new rubber seals fitted. The interior seats have been refurbished in Leather during 2019 as has most of the interior, there is a a new Mohair convertible roof fitted during 2014 . the car has a good quantity of previous MOT certificates with one missing when the car was off the road for replacement sills being fitted. When the engine was refitted after its complete rebuild it was properly run in for 500 miles within 2 months the head bolts where then retightened. The car has a new High Torque Starter and new alternator as fitted by VSE along with a new ignition. The car also has had its triple SU carbs overhauled and rebuilt with new jets fitted. The vendor has also pointed out that the car had a complete new dash top in 2015, a new windscreen in 2017, an MP3 radio conversion in 2020 and a new water pump at the time of the engine overhaul.
