Imported from the USA in 2021; American V8 engine and auto 'box fitted; in need of full restoration; ideal candidate for an electric conversion, perhaps?!

Built in 1969 for the American market, this E-Type Series 2 Roadster was acquired by our vendor from Hilltop Auto of Massachusetts in December 2020 and was imported to the UK in May 2021 with all duties paid.

It is need of full restoration and has been fitted with an American V8 engine at some point, although we aren’t sure of the type or the cylinder capacity so you will have to make your own minds up on that score. It also looks to have an automatic gearbox.

At the time of writing we had no documents for the car but the vendor tells us that he does have the shipping paperwork and the US Certificate of Title which should be here in time for the sale. We will update the website should any more information come to light.

On offer here for substantially less than our vendor paid for the car, it should make a nice project for someone with all parts readily available from Jaguar specialists like SNG Barratt who are just down the road from us in Bridgnorth.

Get stuck in and you could have it back on the road in time for the E-Type’s 65th Anniversary in 2026. Given that it has lost its original engine, it would be a prime candidate to receive an electric motor, should the new owner feel so inclined.
