Car to be at auction 9/18
    www.barons-auctions.com/view-lot/2567/for-sale-at-barons-auctions-1969-jaguar-e- ...

    Auction description:
Jaguar Heritage, Classic and Sports Cars: 15 Sep 2018
    1969 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Roadster
    Guide Price: £25,000 to £35,000
    Manufacturer: Jaguar
    First Registered: 1969
    Model: E-Type Series 2 Roadster
    Registration No: VTY115G
    Mileometer: 0
    Chassis No: 1R1104
    MOT: Not Required
    Colour: Opalescent Dark Green

This original UK RHD Series 2 Roadster E-Type has been owned by the vendor since 1992, and during this time it has been maintained by a recognised specialist. The car has been progressively upgraded in the hands of the current owner, including a T5 5-speed gearbox conversion, Harvey Bailey front handling kit, and continual engine tweaking by specialists.

In 2015 , the car was stripped back to bare metal, and repainted in gorgeous Opalescent Dark Green. This process took over a year to complete, and the car obtained an MOT shortly after the body was complete. The vendor then planned to refit the trim himself, however plans changed and this never happened, with the car remaining unused up until this day.

The car is presented with all parts removed before the body work restoration, including all the trim and brightwork, ready to complete as a fun project car. The vendor states that the car is in running order, as he drove it home 30 miles after it's last MOT at the end of the body build.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
