The Second owner (Mr. Gose) purchased the car on September 11 1972 from a Lady in Knoxville Tennessee. He bought the car to drive on fair-weather days, and only drove the car sparingly. He had the car repainted in 1982 (the paint is showing its age). It was always Garage Kept. The car was last Licensed in 2007 but was parked a few years before that when he bumped the nose of the car pulling it in the garage.
I purchased the car from Mr. Gose and his wife in June of 2017. The car hadn't been started in over 10 years. I brought the car home, drained the gas, installed a new Delco battery, and replaced the original fuel pump with a new correct SU Fuel pump and new fuel filter. With new gas, and some Marvel Mystery Oil, the car started right up. I have driven it around my drive way, but I have not had it on the road. The car does start and run good. I have not cleaned the car up, it is exactly the way I found it in his garage (other than it runs now).
Since the car wasn't used in winter or rain, and always garage kept the car is one of the most solid jaguars I have ever seen! I have not found any rust. The floors, Rocker Panels, Trunk Floor, Bonnet, and Doors all appear to be RUST FREE. You can still see the seams in the rear trunk pan and all the spot welds! Other than the light damage in the bonnet the car shows no signs of ever being wrecked. This is a great Car!

The global appeal of the E-type meant a great proportion were exported, the USA being its biggest overseas market. This Series 2, 1969 Roadster was an American market and settled in Tennessee, where it had two owners before being bought by our UK vendor. Riding on new wire wheels with new whitewall tyres, it presents well but offers scope for improvement if the new owner wishes. The bodywork is generally good with reasonable panel fit and the metallic grey paint (which admirably suits the E-Type's lines) is good but again offers scope or betterment. Recent mechanical work includes fitting a new clutch as well as master and slave cylinders along with new front discs and pads and lower wishbone trunnions, while under the bonnet the carburetors have been overhauled. A new interior (seat facings, door cards and dashboard) ensures the interior presents excellently. Running and driving well, the left-hand drive Series 2 Roadster offers excellent value for money and is worthy of closer inspection.
A generally presenting-well Series 2 that does offer some room for improvement but boasts good bodywork, a new interior and a carburetor overhaul.
