This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that is believed to have remained with the former owners from 1995 through 2022, when it was acquired by the selling dealer. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and finished in yellow over black leather upholstery. It is equipped with 15″ knock-off wire wheels, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, an aluminum radiator, and a stainless-steel exhaust system as well as a push-button AM/FM radio, an 8-track player, and a black soft top and top boot. Work since 2022 is said to have involved re-wiring the gauges. This XKE Series II is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean New Jersey title.
The car was repainted in yellow following body repairs under previous ownership, according to the selling dealer. Exterior details include a black soft top and top boot as well as a louvered forward-hinged hood, Lucas headlights, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Corrosion, chipped paint, filled-in paint chips, and loose bright trim can be seen.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured with three-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with Coker Classic redline tires. A full-size spare is stored beneath the trunk floor. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear units.
The bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and accompanied by three-point seatbelts featuring Leaper buckles. Further appointments include an AM/FM push-button radio, and an 8-track player, and a heater. The headrests and trunk lid seal are missing, and corrosion is visible in the lip of the trunk.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer while supplemental gauges and an analog clock are centrally mounted in the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles and is believed to have rolled over. Work since 2021 is said to have included re-wiring the gauges, and total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and produced 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. An aluminum radiator has been installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The car is further equipped with a stainless-steel exhaust system. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
