This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was purchased by the seller’s father-in-law in 1989 and inherited by the seller in 2007. The car was reportedly reverted back to its original Old English White during a repaint in 2010 and features black vinyl upholstery with red cloth seat inserts. Power is provided by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a heater. This XKE roadster is now offered with service manuals, third-party XKE literature, partial service records, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The car is said to have been repainted in Old English White in 2010 after an earlier repaint in red. Exterior equipment includes a black soft top, sealed-beam open headlights, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. Repairs to the reverse light wiring were carried out in June 2024. The seller notes that the top does not latch at the center of the windshield, and exterior blemishes are shown up close in the image gallery below.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Avon Radial Steel tires measuring 185/80. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features bucket seats with headrests that have been reupholstered in black vinyl with red cloth inserts. Color-matching upholstery covers the center console and armrest. Interior appointments include a locking glovebox and a heater. The clock and radio are nonfunctional, the shift boot is torn, as are areas of interior trim.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership. The tachometer works intermittently.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The fuel pump and battery were replaced at Precision Autoworks of Grand Rapids, Ohio, in April 2024, while the ignition wires, distributor cap, and rotor were replaced in June 2024.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Ohio title is listed as a duplicate.
