EBay item 12/2/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-E-type-Pristine-1970-Jaguar-E-Type-Convert ...
Opening bid $50,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. 115k miles.
Sellers description:
1970 jaguar E type drop head coupe. I am the third owner and have had the car for 2 1/2 years. The previous owner purchased the car in 1978 from the original owner. The car has no accidents and is in immaculate condition. The previous owner showed the car extensively and won many awards. I have a few that will come with the car in addition to the judges sheets. The car has undergone an intensive and painstaking engine out restoration. The previous owner had the engine and transmission rebuilt. The engine work was done by Gran Turismo. Upon purchasing the car I then had the exterior and interior completely restored. This included a bare metal blasting and repaint. Also all rubber gaskets, seals, etc were replaced at this time. Although the car was in amazing shape for it's age it did have a few dings here and there in addition to a small rust spot on the drivers side outer sill. I had both sills replaced and there was not another spot of rust anywhere on the car ( over $23,000 in receipts for the paint work). In addition the entire interior ( save the seats which I think are in excellent condition and give the car a nice patina) and top are new. Additional upgrades are a new and modern (MP3 compatible) CD player and 4 new speakers. The red line tires are in excellent condition with about 8,000 miles on them. I have also upgraded the ignition to an electronic ignition for more reliable performance. This is not uncommon in vintage Jaguars. The car comes with all books and manuals. It is extremely well documented with all receipts dating back to 1978. This car is a matching numbers car with a Jaguar heritage certificate for authentication. Along with the sale of the car I will also include orginal bits and pieces that were upgraded should you decide to show the car ( ie the original altenator). Other items included are a new dash and trunk liner which i did not think warranted replacement at this time. This automobile is featured in the book "Jaguar the Classic Marque" by Steve Kennedy on pages 136 to 157. This car is extremely well sorted and needs nothing. It is ready either to be enjoyed as a driver or a show car. Also included is a photo documentation of the entire restoration process.
