Car offered at:

www.classicdriver.com/en/car/jaguar/e-type-sii/1970/897491

Seller's description:

1970 Jaguar E-Type SII Roadster DHC

Price USD 106 977

Pale primrose yellow / black

Totalrestauration, maching numbers

This example of the "cult car" E-Type was delivered to the USA in 1970, imported to Germany in 1993, has been in my possession for 30 years and of course has the H license plate.

In order to maintain its long-term value, the vehicle was restored from the ground up in 2010-12, "Nut & Bolt", with the highest level of perfection and the claim "better than new" by specialist companies, with the exception of the 2-carburettor system being completely converted to European standards painted in the Jaguar color "pale primrose yellow" from 1970 and customized with Talbot mirrors on the A-pillars.

All work is extensively documented photographically and with work reports and invoices totaling €130 thousand, as are all other maintenance services.

The final Clasic Data report gave a grade of 1!

After 15,000 km with good care and maintenance, an evaluation from 2022 still shows a grade of 1 and a value of €122 thousand.

For reasons of age and lack of space, I would like to pass this noble piece on to caring hands.

Vehicle description :

The vehicle was rebuilt with all wearing parts replaced by the renowned Jaguar specialists “British Classic Cars” in Glottertal.

Previously, the bodyshell received new sills, floors, doors, trunk lids, etc. when it was rebuilt by “Geiger’s Garage”, Sigmaringen.

Long-term rust protection, including the cavities, is guaranteed by cathode dip painting at “Carblast”, Welzheim.

The multi-layer repainting of the body including stone chip, underbody and “Mike Sanders” cavity protection was applied by the “Lackerei Gehbauer”, Meckenbeuren.

The engine was rebuilt by “Schmid & Schmid”, Riedlingen, with the crankshaft, flywheel, cylinders & head being machined, with new pistons, bearings, valves, seats, tappets, guides & springs, and was fitted with a one-piece “Viton” Simmering equipped on the KW output.

The transmission was overhauled with new bearings & synchronizer rings, and the differential with lock and new crown & bevel gear (3.07:1) by “Extra-Mobile”, Straubenhardt.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
