Ebay item 1/26/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-One-Beautifully-Restored-1970-Jaguar-XKE-R ...
Current bid $30,600 reserve not met, 2 bids 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE Roadster. Rescued from the hands of a car theif, this Jaguar has seen a rebirth. It has been refreshed and renewed to its initial glory, every nut, bolt, clip, staple, screw, and panel was removed, refurbished or replaced. This Jaguar underwent a full body off frame restoration. The current owner spared no time or expense in creating the beauty offered to you. Health problems are the only reason for the very reluctant sale. This Jaguar is currently licensed and registered in the state of California. While it does carry a Salvaged Title, this car still a great piece of eye candy. The car was a recovered theft and the only damage was to the interior and wiring. As the photos show, everything has been corrected. A pure joy to drive, this Jag runs great. The engine purrs smoothly and the car handles like a true 70's European sports car. With the top down cruising along the freeway, the smooth vibration and hum from the engine, combined with the thumbs up and stares from onlookers make you feel like an vintage car racer. While this car is not 100 percent perfect, it still shows very well. It is perfectly suited for those that love having a unique beautiful car as a daily driver. All of the options the car is equipped with operate as they should. The car drives and handles as it should with no noises, squeaks, or anything else. There is no paperwork to document the work or the maintenance history. The only proof lies in the photos. Act quick and add this Jaguar to your collection today. An opportunity like this is rare.

- CARSFROMFLORIDA is excited to announce that we have just acquired another incredible example of one of the most beautiful automobiles ever produced, the Series II E-Type Jaguar Roadster!

Words cannot do justice to the amazing condition of this highly coveted classic Jag. One of the finest concours restorations we have ever laid eyes on, not one nut or bolt was left un-attended to, it truly must be seen in person to fully appreciate how nicely done this wonderful old car is.

We received with the vehicle with a documented photo history of the restoration process, as well we acquired this exceptional Jag from a Museum, and it should be viewed as such, nothing less than museum quality! We believe this to be an original 60k mile car, and the mileage showing on the odometer to be correct.

Finished in the most sought after color combination of Red over Tan leather interior, with a black cabriolet top, this Jag is a show piece all the way! The body is rust free, dent free, laser straight, and flawlessly refinished in its original Red paint color. The gorgeous original chrome Dayton knock-off wire wheels look literally brand new and are wearing new Michelin Red-Line rubber. Inside everywhere you look and touch is just new, nothing is missing, every piece correct, and there is zero wear whatsoever. The original steering wheel is one of the nicest we have ever seen and there is a custom wood Jaguar shift knob to match. All of the controls, guages, and switchgear function properly, the air blows cold, and the seats are redone in real Connolly Leather!

Under the bonnet the concours condition continues. The excellent running original 4.2L six is detailed to show winning specification. The carbs and intake manifold are polished to a high shine, the cam covers are perfect, the right plug wires are present, the exhaust manifold shroud is polished, and the underside of the bonnet is as nice as the top.

The drive in this car is just as wonderful as it's looks. The engine starts effortlessly and comes to idle very quickly, the clutch feels perfect and she shifts into gear flawlessly. Down the road she goes without a care in the world as this is easily as much driving fun as you can have with your clothes on. The double overhead cam 4.2L engine purrs like a kitten and pulls as strong as day one. The steering, handling, and braking are all excellent and the car literally still inspires confidence when driving hard and begs for more.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
