The original owner's widow put Petula (the car) on consignment from which I bought her.

As near as I can construct, she was purchased in Santa Monica, California in March, 1970 and has lived her entire life in California (including her home for the last six years in my garage).

She appears to have taken a fairly significant shunt in the left door, which was replaced before my stewardship. She now has an electronic ignition system, a much upgraded cooling system and a new stereo. Other than that, she's pretty original. You can see her at Cars 'N Coffee in Irvine on Saturdays (if I get up early enough). She shares the garage with a 1967 Jaguar 340 (Basil), which is undergoing restoration.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
