This would appear to be a VIN collision, the same VIN, diffferent car, offered at Coy's auction 4/13. Most likely a typo or error in reading the stamped VIN.

Auction description:
Lot 111 - 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster
Estimate: €45,000 - €55,000
Registration Number: German Registered
Chassis Number: 1R 12491
This late E-Type Roadster has been exported to the US in 1970 and came back to Europe (Germany) in the 1980s.

In the years to follow, the car was modified to take part in historic racing. Apart from the fitting of 3 SU carburettors, limited slip differential, electric cooling fan, oil cooler and stainless steel manifolds, the E-Type received a full and professional restoration to a very high standard.

This restoration included a cataphoretic coating of the body, a complete engine rebuilt, an Opto electronic ignition system, a stainless steel big bore exhaust system and retrim in full leather, just to mention a few things. All this is photo documented. Since that the car ran only for less than 100 kms. Finished in gun metal grey this roadster comes with German historic papers and is simply superb.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
