Seller's description:
1970 Jaguar E-type Series 2 Roadster
We are so very proud to offer this very special Jaguar E-type Roadster. This car was built on March 25 of 1970 and originally dispatched on April 7th of 1970. It was meticulously cared for by three owners since new.

• We purchased this car from the same meticulous owner who had this car since 1984.
• Previously restored but recently refreshed both mechanically and cosmetically.
• Matching numbers as per Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
• Original color combination of Willow Green with Suede Green leather interior.
• It was a one time Jaguar Concours winner.
• Concour awards from late 1980s and early 1990s.
• Paperwork going back to the mid 1980s.
• The previous owner spent about over $15,000 in work in 2018 as detailed in the pictured invoices. This included the head
being rebuilt. About 300 miles have been placed on the car since.
• We spent close to $10,000 going through the car and an additional refreshing. This included refreshing the paint.
• Hot compression tested and the results were 160 to 165 on all 6 cylinders.
• New chrome wire wheels and Michelin 205 Defender tires installed.
• This car will be listed on Bring a Trailer auctions in early December.

Current bid: $35,200 11 bids 5 days left in auction no reserve, seller josepalban_0, car now said to be in Lancaster, Kentucky, 86k miles.

CAUTION, see above auction results, same photos used for this auction with license plate covered.

Seller's description:

This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II open two-seater that was sold new in the US finished in Willow Green over Suede Green.

It retains its original 4.2-liter inline-six, which is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox.

Four new Michelin tires and a new stainless exhaust system were installed.

Will come with records dating back to the 1980s, manuals, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean title.Finished from the factory in Willow Green, the car received a partial exterior repaint to rectify a number of chips and flaws in the finish. Reassembly included new front bumper seals, as well as a replacement left front turn signal and reverse light housings. The disc brake system received a new master cylinder and servo, along with new hoses and a fluid flush. Four new 205/70-series Michelin Defender tires were installed on the 15″ chrome wire wheels.

The left-hand-drive cabin is trimmed in Suede Green upholstery with matching carpets. The latter were replaced, and a new handbrake ratchet was also fitted.

A new Moto-Lita 15″ wood-rimmed wheel fronts a set of factory Smiths gauges, and 86k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer. The speedometer was repaired in 2018, and the tachometer glass was removed for cleaning and reinstalled.

The 4.2-liter XK inline-six is equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors and was factory-rated for 246 horsepower in US-market specification. A top-end rebuild, including new head studs, intake and exhaust valves, and cam bearings, was performed in 2018. A recent compression test revealed between 160 and 165 psi in all six cylinders. The carburetors were rebuilt, and the fluids were also changed.

A tool kit, jack, chrome spare, and soft-face mallet reside in the trunk.

You can tell, had a pampered life and no sign of abuse any where, in it’s entire life. The interior/exterior all original factory and in perfect shape, no rips or tears anywhere! Hard to believe, so you need to see it in person to appreciate.

This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that was produced in March 1970 and is finished in Willow Green over a Suede Green interior. Power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual gearbox, and equipment includes a black soft top, dual Stromberg carburetors, and chrome wire wheels. A top-end rebuild and overhauls of the carburetors were conducted under prior ownership, while the servicing of the fuel, cooling, and suspension systems were conducted in preparation for the sale. Award recognition includes multiple JCNA best-in-class awards. This Series II XKE roadster was purchased by the current owner on BaT in December 2019 and is now offered on dealer consignment in Canada with records dating from the 1980s, manuals, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and British Columbia registration.

The body was partially refinished in its factory color of Willow Green during prior ownership and is paired with a black soft top. Additional features include exposed headlights, chrome-finished bumpers with guards, and tail lights positioned below the bumpers. Imperfections are noted in the chrome bumpers, over-riders, and soft top.

Chrome-finished 15” wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs and wear 205/70 Michelin Defender tires installed in 2018. A matching spare wheel fitted with a Michelin redline tire is stored in the rear compartment, and braking is managed by four-wheel discs.

Cabin finishes include Suede Green upholstery accompanied by matching door panels and carpeting as well as a black dashboard. A functioning Panasonic radio is linked to speakers fitted within the center stack, and lap belts are provided for both occupants.

The Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts factory Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and a five-digit odometer showing 86k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter XK inline-six is equipped with a pair of rebuilt Stromberg carburetors and received a top-end rebuild under prior ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox. Work completed in preparation for the sale included servicing of fuel tank, carburetors, and alternator wiring as well as replacement of the coolant hoses, steering rack mounts and bellows, and front suspension bushings.

Engine stamping 7R11916-9 matches the numbers shown on both the chassis plate and the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.

A tool kit, jack, soft-face mallet, manufacturer’s literature, and JCNA award recognition are viewable in the gallery below.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate indicates a manufacture date in March 1970 and lists original colors, equipment, engine number, and distribution through British Leyland of New York.
