Ebay item 2/20/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-Roadster-1970-jaguar-e-type-ots-gorgeous-s-ma ...
Current bid US $23,100 reserve not met 12 bids 9 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Santa Barbara, California.
Sellers description:
Offered for sale is an absolutely beautiful, mechanically excellent, numbers matching 1970 Jaguar E-Type OTS (Open Two Seater) that's had only one owner from new, accruing a mere 52k original miles in its 45 years of service. Finished in ever-refined and factory correct Pale Primrose over Black leather interior, the car has never been in an accident and retains its numbers matching engine and transmission as well as its solid original body and undercarriage. Purchased new for $5,534 by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grosse on July 19th, 1970, they would own and enjoy the car for more than 44 years until we were able to acquire it this winter.
Always garaged and maintained, always used sparingly as a "pride-and-joy" weekend driver in fair weather only, the car has been out of the elements its entire life. Cloaked by a lovely Pale Primrose finish that is marred only by the most minor of imperfections (none of which are significant enough to appear in any of the pictures), the car's body is entirely original, retaining good panel fits and gaps with absolutely no evidence of filler or body-work. All of the glass, rubber and brightwork remains in excellent condition, as do the chrome knock off wire wheels which are wrapped in nearly new Firestone white wall tires. The car's trunk and undercarriage are both original and exceptionally sound and solid. Corrosion is not an issue for this E-Type.
The car's interior is equally clean and only lightly patinated. The black leather seats are absolutely beautiful, free of any rips, tears or split seams and the same can be said for all of the interior panels and carpets. The original wood steering wheel is free of any cracks, as is the dash, which houses a fully functional switch panel and gauges. The trunk mat is virtually flawless and underneath you'll find the original full spare wire wheel and tire as well as the original tire changing tools. Lastly, the car's Everflex soft-top is in excellent condition and the car retains its original boot cover.
The car is completely sorted mechanically and an absolute pleasure to drive. The original, numbers matching 4.2L engine starts easily, idles consistently and pulls strongly and smoothly through each of the original transmission's gears. Compression is excellent and even across all cylinders and the engine tone is as grin-inducing as the performance. Ride quality is excellent, the suspension and brakes each functioning as they should, and the car is a joy from behind the wheel, whether tooling through town, winding through the canyons or bombing down the highway. Of all the E-Types we've had, I can safely say that this is the strongest performing, most mechanically sound that we've ever had the pleasure to drive.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire an extremely original, numbers matching, one owner, 52k original mile, entirely solid and mechanically sound 1970 Jaguar Series II 4.2L E-Type OTS finished in a timeless and attractive livery. The astronomical valuation jump that the Series I XKEs have realized in the past two years has continued to drive the appreciation of Series II cars, ensuring that this remarkable example will undoubtedly offer its next owner investment upside while providing years of enjoyment. If you're in the market for an E-Type Roadster, this beautiful 1970 certainly deserves your consideration.

Although the the car was purchased by the Grosse's in 1970, I know first hand that it was not purchased "new"
