This 1969 Series 2 E Type - an original UK market, righthand drive, three keeper roadster with chrome wires - still has matching chassis and engine numbers intact. Even the original MAR 564H registration has been restored following a spell with personalised plates.

On file are former MOTs from 1974 verifying mileage of 65,000 to 1978, when the car was rebuilt, following which only a further 19,860 miles have been added during the last seventeen years. The latest MOT is valid until August and the tax disc will not require renewing until next April.

The car has been successfully concours-evented, there being a 'Highly Commended' certificate from the JDC together with photo among the documents. Last year, and as recorded in more photos on file, the car completed a trouble-free tour of Southern Ireland in the company of such luminaries as Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jack Brabham and Roy Salvadori. Part of a private collection, it is only being sold, rather reluctantly, due to the enthusiast owner's ill health.

During 2003, the clutch was renewed by engineer Andrew Tart, there being a bill detailing work carried out on file. The panel fit is claimed currently to be near perfect, the white paintwork and the black leather excellent, and the 4.2-litre 6-cylinder engine reportedly also in excellent order. With double-duck hood and a stainless steel exhaust, this open E Type is absolute on-the-key for a new owner here today to enjoy.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
