Auction description:
Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd November
1969 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 ROADSTER SII
Estimate: £8,000 - £10,000
Chassis number: IR1390
Offered for restoration, this 1969 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 spent from the 1970s onwards as part of a collection. It is an original UK-supplied right-hand drive open two-seater model, which is confirmed by its Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. This lists it as originally finished in silver with a black-piped grey interior, distributed by Henlys of London and sold by Boorers Garage in Worthing. The bonnet that comes with the car is not the original item. It comes with a copy of its old style V5 registration document, the Heritage Certificate, an August 2023 copy of Classic Car Weekly mentioning the Jaguar's previous sale at an ACA auction, and correspondence with the DVLA confirming that until the E-Type is ‘complete, serviceable and able to move under its own power’, a new V5C will be unable to be issued as its registration number ‘HPO 230H’ has dropped off the DVLA database.
