Twin Turbo 327 Project: 1970 Jaguar E-Type SII Roadster
This 1970 Jaguar E-type roadster (chassis 1R13937) has been with the seller for over 35 years, and they describe it as both super solid and accident free. There's no word on what powers its garage mate, but the primered one runs a twin turbo Chevy 327 and unspecified automatic trans-the seller estimates 500 HP, further calling it a nearly finished project. If it's taken this long to nearly finish, their alternate suggestion of returning to 4.2 straight-six power might be a good idea. Find it here on Craigslist in Arlington, Virginia for $28,600.
Details are somewhat limited, but the car looks complete. Wheels appear to be third generation Camaro items, but wires are included as well. The seller says that it's both very solid and accident free, though straightness isn't easy to get a read on from these photos. Surprisingly, the top appears to be in decent shape, and the interior is said to retain original upholstery.
The 327, force-fed by twin Garrett TA0302 turbochargers. Running condition isn't quite clear-the seller estimates 500 HP, but also calls the car a nearly finished project. Interesting but maybe not 100% kosher, returning to XK-series power might be a good idea, though the TTV8 setup could be a lot of counter-purist fun with the right mindset.
