Sold by the Classic and Sports Car Centre near Malton in Autumn 2016. Seller's description below. The URL is
www.classicandsportscar.ltd.uk/Jaguar_E_Type-series-11-4.2-FHC-/classic-cars-sol ...

This stunning Jaguar E Type series 11 4.2 FHC was manufactured on 20 May 1970 and left the factory finished in Cream with Red leather. The original distributor was Parkers of Bolton and supplied new by Henlys of Oldham to a local lady. This genuine UK car is still in its original colours and specification. UK specification E Types are in high demand at present and high quality, usable examples like this are becoming increasingly difficult to buy. This particular car is the 905th series 11 coupe off the production line and is therefore one of the later surviving series 11 coupes, To further enhance the car we can confirm it does have matching numbers and is totally correct throughout.

The car presents incredibly well with beautiful Cream paintwork, quite superb panel fit and lovely straight panels. The body is exceptional, as is the underside of the vehicle. The engine bay presents superbly with a lovely detailed engine, space frame and ancillaries. The interior is truly beautiful with Gorgeous Red leather with a lovely original feel. The car records a mileage of 77,000 with MoT's dating back to 1995 when the car had 70,872 miles. Everything about the car suggests this could be genuine as it has an honest, genuine look to it and of course retains so many features such as the original Greater Manchester registration mark, original colours and of course original leather seats that suggest this is a low mileage car.

On the road the car is impressive. It starts instantly, has a fabulous stainless steel exhaust note and the engine is outstanding. It sounds, performs and runs superbly, it holds excellent oil pressure and the car is quick, responsive and a fabulous driving experience. The four speed manual gearbox is effortless to use, its smooth, quiet and delightful. The brakes are very sharp, it handles incredibly well and holds the road nicely. The E Type comes with a comprehensive history file detailing thousands of pounds worth of expenditure and upkeep. We have invoices for new chrome wire wheels and mechanical work over many years to include replacement brakes, suspension and steering components.

This E Type offers a fabulous opportunity to acquire a correct, UK specification car that has that wonderful mix of originality and careful, detailed maintenance and improvement. All the right things have been kept in place and with good paperwork, correct numbers, Heritage Certificate, original colours, this really is something special. With the cars stunning, sharp body and paint, fabulous chrome wire wheels and gorgeous Red leather upholstery, this is a car that should be cherished. Pleasingly on the road it does not disappoint and finding a FHC that sounds and drives like this will not be easy. This is a fine motor car and one for the discerning buyer.

Since previously being sold by us the E Type has had a further programme of work to include new engine mountings, rebuilt alternator, new brake pipes callipers, rear brake pads and handbrake pads and a high torque starter motor. Thousands of pounds have been spent over the past few months and the car has had some final detail work done prior to coming into our showroom.
