Car was at auction 4/17
www.swva.co.uk/classic-car/jaguar-e-type-1970/
Auction description:
This car was supplied to the vendor on 20th September 2008 by Eagle Racing and she benefits from Eagle engineering GT modifications including suspension and brake upgrades etc. The body works of this car is totally rust free. there are two photographic albums which show the car completely stripped, engine out etc and detailed work carried out before the re-paint. The gaps are correct and all panels fit as they should. The interior is in excellent condition. The vendor has asked us to point out that in some artificial light there are signs of micro blistering.
Now onto the mechanics. On 14th November 2011 there is a receipted bill from Sigma Engineering, the renowned Jaguar engine specialists for £5348.84, this included a replacement block, full details in the history file. The car has also had an upgraded to the gearbox and she now benefits from a 5 speed box. The history file is very comprehensive and goes back to 1993. From a glance they appear to be Jaguar Specialists. A number of service books are included from Eagle engineering from 2000- 2008, 24/06/11 for £4212, 05/06/10 for £2214, 22/04/10 for £1988 are just a few examples. This is indicates how well this lovely car has been looked after. Also included in the history file are certificates for wax oiling done by Eagle in 2002 and 2008, old MOTs back to 1997 and also some old tax discs. The V5 records show the car has only had 4 registered owners (including the vendor) since 1977.
Auctioneers notes: This car is one of the finest E types I have had the pleasure of coming across. She is not conours but her patina and her history indicates to me what a beautifully looked after car she is. Finished in red with tan leather interior, she sits on wider rimmed chrome wire wheels. I am told, with the suspension and brake modifications, she handles like a dream.
