Owner: Bob Kirk
On my 16th birthday, after I had passed my drivers test, my uncle who owed (and still does) a 1969 XKE Series 1.5 Coupe asked me if I wanted to drive the Jag. Despite my not knowing how to drive a stick, he patiently taught me how. What a great guy! Updated September 3rd, 2020. Not legal proof of ownership. |

Ebay item 6/2/20
www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Jaguar-E-Type-Series-II/164228158825
Opening bid US $1,000 reserve not met 0 bids 2 days left in auction, seller gateway-classic-cars, 65k miles. Said to be in New Carlilse, Indiana in '03.
Seller's description:
Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this truly gorgeous 1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II Coupe. This 1969 E-Type Series II Coupe for sale is stunning with its Signal Red paint theme that flows well with the Biscuit tan leather interior. This incredible example of late sixties British sports cars in my option has the sweetest body lines of any car, ever! With the long bonnet stretching out in front of you almost beckoning you further down the road, it is almost like the car is telling you just one more mile, just one more curve where you hit the apex perfectly. The hardest part of owning a car like this is pulling to a stop in your garage and twisting the key to shut her down. Tucked under that long bonnet is the original numbers matching 4.2 Liter dual overhead cam inline six cylinder that was an upgrade from the previous 3.8 and mated to the original 4 speed manual transmission. One notable feature about this engine set up is the 3 separate 2 inch Side Draft SU Carburetors. This E Type for sale has been cared for lovingly and it shows everywhere. The interior is crisp, gauges are easy to read with faces that are bright and the glass clean. Once behind the steering wheel of this 1969 Jaguar your hands just fall into place and by that, I mean shifter and steering wheel are in just that right spot! Jaguar E types are in high demand and rightly so. Options for this '69 Jag E type for sale include: Aftermarket A/C, AM/FM radio, Leather interior, Seat belts, knock off rims that are wrapped in Redline tires, 4 wheel disc brakes, Full Synchromesh transmission, and so much more! Notable upgrades worth mentioning are the new battery, new clutch that includes the pressure plate and throw out bearing, new starter, and even a recent tune up have all been completed recently.

Car returns to ebay 6/21/24
Car has a buy it now price of $89,900 for 4 days, seller reimelmotorcars, car now in Wayne, Pennsylvania, 68k miles.
Seller's description:
Reimel Motor Cars is proud to offer a 1969 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe with 68k miles. Finished in Signal Red over Biscot (Tan) leather interior.
This Series II E-Type FHC has undergone restoration over the past twenty years by Jaguar enthusiast owners, who have made significant improvements to its solid, well-documented, high-quality condition. This numbers-matching car has only about 68,000 miles on it, and the odometer is believed to be accurate.
This particular car was manufactured on September 2, 1968, and dispatched to BMC/Jaguar Cars of New York. It was originally cream with a red interior and was equipped with the standard 4.2-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC) inline six-cylinder (I6) engine. The first owner of the car was Melvin Reisinger of Pompano Beach, FL, who purchased it on February 2, 1969. The car underwent a color change from cream to Signal Red at an unknown date, likely in Florida. A comprehensive repaint was later carried out, including a new biscuit interior, between 1997 and 1999 in Indiana.
In 2000, under the ownership of the fourth or fifth enthusiast in Indiana, the car underwent further modifications, including the installation of three 2-inch SU carburetors to replace the original twin Zenith carbs, increasing the engine's power from 180 hp to 252 hp. The car changed hands several times between 2000 and 2020, with extensive documentation of restoration work and improvements in performance noted during this period.
In 2020, when purchased by the fifth or sixth owner, additional modifications were made, including the integration of the original parts of the air conditioning system with new components from Vintage Air. The cooling components were also added, along with a high-power, single-wire alternator to ensure the car could withstand the hot and humid weather of Dallas, TX, where the car was located at the time. The compression was checked at this time and was noted to be 145 to 160 psi in all cylinders with about 64,000 miles on the car. Many original parts and numerous spare parts are included with the sale.
The car is a vintage Jaguar that is in excellent driving condition and is completely reliable. It recently completed a four-day vintage car road rally in October 2023, starting from Newport, RI at the Audrain Concours d'Elegance and traveling north to the White Mountains, then east to Maine coastal towns including Kennebunkport, Portsmouth NH, and back to Newport, RI. The car performed flawlessly during the rally and has only required an alternator rebuild and a new drive belt after adding about 2500 trouble-free miles over a year of ownership.
This is a numbers-matching Series 2 FHC XKE, confirmed by multiple authoritative sources. While it cannot be confirmed if the engine's cylinder head left the factory at the same time as the engine, it's a common practice for Jaguar DHC engines to require valve work at some point in their lives. The original transmission and differential have not been rebuilt. The clutch, bearing, and pressure plate were previously replaced at about 60,000 miles and show no signs of wear.
