This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II fixed-head coupe that was built in January 1969 and was sold new to an owner in New Jersey. Powered by a numbers-matching 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, the car has been refinished in red over black, and equipment includes 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, earlier-model triple SU carburetors, a tubular header, chrome bumpers, and a retro-style head unit. The selling dealer acquired the car in April 2021 following refurbishment work that is said to have occurred during previous ownership, and the seller replaced the battery and changed the engine oil. This E-Type is offered with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, a Thor knock-off hammer, partial service records, and a Pennsylvania title.
The car was ordered new in Sable and is said to have been disassembled and refinished in the current red approximately 20 years ago. The seller states that the bumpers and exterior trim was also replaced under previous ownership. Features include a side-hinged rear hatch, pop-out rear quarter windows, polished dual exhaust outlets, and bright-finished elements such as the bumpers, window surrounds, and dual side mirrors.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with earless spinners and wear 205/75 Pirelli P5 tires. Braking is managed by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors.
The cabin features black bucket seats along with matching door panels and carpeting. Additional equipment includes a heater, a center armrest, a clock, a locking glove compartment, and a retro-style head unit with an auxiliary jack.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and center-stack-mounted secondary gauges. The five-digit odometer indicates 45k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features earlier-model triple SU carburetors and a tubular exhaust header. The selling dealer states that the clutch was replaced approximately 500 miles ago, and work performed by the seller has included an oil change and replacement of the battery.
Engine stamping 7R3698-9 matches the number listed on the chassis plate as well as the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and equipment as well as production information showing the car was built in January 1969, dispatched to New York the following month, and reached its New Jersey–based first owner in May 1969.
