Ebay item 11/12/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1969-Jaguar-E-Type-Coupe-/330495558003
Current bid $1,184 reserve not met, 5 bids 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This is a true two passenger Gran Touring coupe and could be daily driven. This particular car is a 4 speed example fitted with a 9:1 compression 4.2 liter. Examination will show it is in excellent body, interior, and mechanical condition. It has been refitted with the early triple SU carb setup and it now has all the power and then some of the Series One E-Type. It is in excellent mechanical and body condition and has had no evidence of accident or of rust damage -- not even in the vulnerable spare tire well.

Body and Paint:
Excellent body and subframe condition. No signs of any major accident damage and never looks to have ever had any rust or repair. Solid body panels, sills, and bonnet. The entire car was nicely refinished in a medium Green with a very fine metallic. The paint work included a refinish of the under-hood and suspension sub-frames. The paint has been well applied and is approximately 10 years old. It looks great under showroom lights and even better in sunlight. The paint is in very good condition, smooth and glossy with only a few minor rock chips from road use. The paint is an 8 out 10.

Wheels and Tires:
Car is fitted with the 72 Spoke chrome wire wheel and a matching set of 205/65-15 tires. All are in very good condition. The car has jack and original type jack bag.

Interior, Dash and Top:
The Black interior is extremely nice and done in all the proper materials and original patterns. It appears just as the original would have been. Has the feel and appearance of a 2 or 3 year old car. Good headliner and dash of course. The expensive to recover seat have been already redone in proper pattern and leather. All the rest of the interior shows well, smells good and really needs nothing but to be used and enjoyed. Very much equal to the outside of the car.

Mechanicals:
Engine is the original 4.2 the factory fitted and it and the rest of the drivetrain are in excellent condition. The engine has 150lbs compression in all cylinders, very good oil pressure even warm. This car always starts and runs easily with no unusual noises from anywhere. The triple carb setup makes this one of the fastest E-type’s we have driven. The clutch engages smoothly and the transmission shifts well. The brakes slow the car straight and have excellent stopping power with the later improved Series Two calipers. The suspension is well maintained and the addition of the six adjustable Spax shock absorbers make the ride controllable but definitely not harsh. The car is fitted with a Posi Trac diff unit. Overall very easy to drive car and would make a great daily driver or long-distance tour car. We sold this car a few years back and the prior owner has moved overseas, so we repurchased since it is such a nice driver. It has been driven regularly until the last few months. Mechanicals are all well maintained, we have know this car for a few years and done normal maintenance on the car for the prior owner.

Summary:
Great car to collect or use as a driver. This is a very rare Coupe body style in Series Two form. It benefits from the better cooling and brake system of the later cars and has been tastefully improved with the addition of a full stainless exhaust, the Classic triple two inch SU's, and Spax shocks at all corners. You probably could not find a better equipped and driving 2-place car. It is ready to be enjoyed and driven. Series Two Jaguar E-types are a bargain in the collector market. Not many of this sleek body style remain and are in this ready to use condition. They offer speed, beauty, and mechanical sophistication all in one package. This 40 year old Jaguar has been treated well, lived in a garage, led a good life and is ready for many more years of service. If you are looking for a damage-free, excellent driving Jaguar this is it, and we are pricing this car so it will sell.
