Ebay item 10/20/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $9,256.13 (Reserve not met), 4 bids, 5 days left in auction. Matching numbers car.
Sellers description:
I am the third owner of this 1970 Jaguar XKE Coupe. The first owner bought the car in Detroit and owned it for 4 years. During this time he had the car repainted Old English White, the original color. The second owner had the car from 1974 to 2001 when I bought it. The pan in this car is rust free due to the first owner having it under coated. The chrome on car is very nice with a few scratches. Interior is in great original condition. Engine starts easily and runs great, but does miss a bit on idle due to the vacuum advance not working right. This car only has 38,190 original miles on it.
After I purchased it, I did the following:
* Installed a new starter
* Installed new stainless steel clutch slave cylinder
* Gave it a tune-up
* Installed new chrome resonators
* Rebuilt front brakes
* Cleaned radiator
* Replaced hoses
* Cleaned off surface rust on wheel spokes
The car is a very nice driver now but could use the following to make it more presentable:
* Repaint. Current paint is too thick and is spider webbing or cracking.
* Repair rust spots. There are four small areas that have rust. Three spots are by the back wheels, the largest being ¼ inch wide by 4 inches long. The edge of the bonnet on the driver’s side has an inch long spot of rust where the metal rolls to the inside.
* Replace rubber seals around doors, back latch, and bonnet.
* Repair a dent on the front upper part of the bonnet. Dent is about 14 inches long and 2 inches wide. Metal is not creased; it is rolled in slightly from the bumper of a truck.
* Purchase new tires
