Ebay item 3/25/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-405-66-7642-1970-XKE-Coupe-Southern-Rust-F ...
Current bid $29,500, no reserve, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $32,000.
Sellers description:
I'll describe the best I can. This is a Southern Tennessee car from new until two years ago it came to me in Atlanta. It has been my personal car although I"m in the bussiness, I bought another 70 coupe, so I only have room for one. This is a totatly rust free car, and is a dark red with tan leather, I removed all crome, and trim, and lights, and had it painted two years ago and no rust was found, and the paint looks great, no runs or over spray, but it is not a nomber one prize winning paint job, its a $4000 paint job my cost and looks fantastic for a driver, you won't be disipointed. most all new rubber seals were replaced. The interior is fantastiic condition, with new leather seat skins, new dash pad, some carpet replacement some is still original but all looks great. door panals original and rear back area original looks great. Wire wheels are very nice no visiable rust on set of new Michilen tires. I had the car compeletely gone through and anything it need it got including horn replacment, oil change, all lighting works, all gauges works I replaced the radio but the original is availiable and works poorly, Cluth excellent, schronizers perfect, no grinding. I drive the car once or twice weekly, a true driving experence and a fast appreciating car, I think its as good looking as the Mercedes gullwings and 300Sl's and look what they bring, and this you can get any parts and serviced easially. Comes with nice spare jack, nock off tool and hammer , and owners manual. I've never had any over heating problems but if you get cought out in summer traffic jams she will run warm, but these cars were not ment to be driven in big city hot summer traffic rush hours. This is not a lot of money for a great driving experence and appreciating classic. SHE WILL LEEK A LITTLE OIL BUT IT'S NOT BEEN A PROBLEM FOR i'VE BEEN ADVISED, ALL THESE OLD JAGS LEAK A LITTLE, JUST A WAY OF LIFE, OTHER THEN THAT, THE CAR NEEDS NOTHING BUT A NEW HOME AND IF YOUR GOING TO BUY ONE OF THESE CARS A RUST FREE CAR IS VERY IMPORTANT.

Fahrzeugbeschreibung
The second series of the XK-E retained the model's exceptional aesthetics and introduced numerous vital engine and interior upgrades. It featured the largest capacity 4.2lt engine fuel-fed via 2 instead of 3 carburetors for smoother operation, easier tuning and lower emissions. The larger air intake and twin radiator cooling permitted better engine operation and performance. The driving experience benefited from a full synchromesh gearbox and adjustable seats. Safety was also addressed by fitting seat headrests, impact-absorbing steering column, rocker switches, open headlights, larger taillights and redesigned rear bumper. The upgrades were greatly received by the public with sales rising at their peak for the model. However, due to its limited production run, the second series cars are rarer than their predecessors. Notably, in its purest FHC form there were only 4850 Series II units produced compared to 15442 of Series I.
This particular FHC was sourced in 2007 for its originality, color combination and southern US history.
Once acquired it was imported in Greece and received FIA accreditation for its authenticity. In 2016 a series of repairs were conducted with mechanical maintenance and interior preservation in mind. All parts were sourced through marque specialists S.N.G Barratt Group, UK. The engine was fully serviced with new gaskets, pumps, thermostat, mounts and hoses. The carburetors were fully rebuilt with repair kit parts and the fuel foam was replaced. All suspension and steering bushes as well as brake hoses were fitted new. The driver’s and passenger’s floors were replaced and the paint received a deep polish treatment. The interior was also detailed after numerous small repairs to preserve its authenticity.
This exceedingly elegant and fully sorted FHC is now offered in excellent condition.
