    Ebay item 5/3/08
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-XKE-4-2-AT-AC-Beautiful-Arizona-Classi ...
Current bid $8,988 reserve not met, 8 bids, 8 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE 2+2!! The color combo was NOT my idea...I bought it like you see it. It was done in those colors, with the wide whites, etc. for a cosmetic company who used the car in their advertising campaign in the Phoenix area a couple of years ago. Thier slogan was "Go Bold and Get Noticed", and they took the car to various promos, photo shoots, etc. This car was restored by it's former owner about 4-5 years ago, he is an "eccentric" (to say the least) doctor in Scottsdale, and he said they promised to put the cars interior back to stock when they finished with it, but he and his wife liked it so much, they kept it that way. The paint is a quality job, a base/clear, and I'd say about a 7 on a 1-10 scale, and is the original red color. The following was done on the car during the restoration process, approx. 5 years ago: New paint, re-chromed just about everything, new window rubbers, door seals, felts, etc. Rebuilt engine, trans, carbs, etc. AC was also all re-done, and blew ice-cold all last summer, but now is just "cool", the compressor and everything are functioning fine, but it must have a leak somwhere. Runs great, even in the summer here in Az. it never over-heats. It has 2 cooling fans that really do a good job. Body is VERY straight, rock-solid Az. car with no signs of filler or previous rust repair. Engine compartment and spare wheel well are a little dusty and original looking, could use a good detail, etc. The car is an absolute BLAST to drive, and gets CONSTANT attention and thumbs-up everywhere it goes.

Opening bid $16,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. Car now located in West Linn, Oregon.

    Sellers description:
This Series 2 is characterized by open headlights without glass covers, a wrap-around rear bumper, re-positioned and larger front indicators and taillights below the bumpers. Better cooling aided by an enlarged "mouth" and twin electric fans were now used. Uprated brakes are also hallmarks of the Series 2 cars. Industrial ribbed appearance cam covers and Flip switches replaced rocker switches on the dash in the Series Two cars.

This 2+2 coupe has spent most of its life in both Arizona and California.......

Current bid US $18,600 reserve not met 5 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Atlanta, Georgia, 56k miles.

    Sellers description:
This is a 1969 Series II XKE / E-Type that I was planning on keeping forever and finish upgrading and restoring; but my ex-wife made other plans for it.

The car is 99.9 % rust-free throughout, and solid. The hood is absolutely perfect and the body is laser-straight. The door hinges are tired, the windshield is cracked, the air conditioning is all there but not charged, it drips and leaks like my MG and Landrover did, and any other 46 year old British car.

The paint is more than beautiful as you can see in the pictures and the re-dyed interior is very serviceable (a bit worn on the driver's seat). The headliner is all there and tight. ALL of the chrome trim on this car is perfect, which seriously did not come cheap. The spare is also a wire wheel and the fuel tank is very good; no rust. The original jack and bronze knock-off ring are included. The cam covers are Series 1 aluminum covers because they look much better. I was told that this is a matching number car when I bought it but I don't know where to look to confirm that. Add a little choke and the car starts every time (professionally rebuilt carburetors). Actual mileage is unknown.

I intended to have the automatic transmission replaced with an E-type 4-speed manual (which I already have, and which I will list separately if I don't sell it locally) and have the radiator replaced (which I will also list separately), etc.

The car just came out of 3 years of dry storage, with gas and coolant drained and the battery on a trickle charger. Some people enjoy knocking the 2+2 but if you actually want drive an E-type and if you measure more than 5'6" and weight more than 150 lbs, the 2+2 is a MUCH roomier car. Jaguar recognized this as well and E-Type convertibles are basically 2+2's with a cloth top.

This car turns heads, attracts a lot of attention at car meets, makes people smile and restaurant valets will always park her in front. She looks incredible.

The car has a clear title and will also come with a notarized bill of sale.
