    Ebay item 8/11/04
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $8,500.00, no reserve, no bids yet, 4 days left in auction. 52k miles.

    Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE 2+2 4.2 liter inline six engine, dual stromberg carbs. Automatic transmission. Primrose yellow, black interior. Vredestien tires with original knock off wheels (removal tool included). New upolstery (black naugahyde), new front and rear brakes, (pads, rotors, stainless steel brake lines, new fluid). New Woodhead shocks front and rear. Rebuilt radiator. New upper and lower front ball joints. New motor mounts, new transmission mounts. All new rubber mouldings except tailgate. (couldn't find one!) It also has a newer battery.

    Vehicle Condition
It runs very well, the engine sounds very strong. The transmission shifts well. The car passed a local emission test recently. Milage is not correct as the odometer has stopped working. Mechaniclly the car is sound. It just needs finishing. It will need minor bodywork and paint. The car appears to be rust free, and the body is very straight. There are some scratches on the doors, but no major dents. The car will make a very good driver, and needs very little to have a great weekend car. Too many projects to finish!

    Car returns to ebay 8/17/13
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-Jaguar-E-type-2-2-Coupe-4-2L-Automatic-Project-/111 ...
Opening bid $5,000 reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Denver, Colorado. 51k miles.

    Sellers description:
A nice easy project 1969 Jaguar XKE Coupe 4.2L inline 6cly with automatic transmission. This is a clean rust free Colorado car. The car starts and runs out ok as it has been setting for the past 6 years and had new brakes done about 2 years ago. The inside of the car is very clean and had new leather done on the seats at the same time as the brakes about 2 years ago and still looks very nice. Has the wire knock off wheels that will need new tires. All the Glass is good and free of cracks and all the lights are there but the head lights will not turn on. The body is not bad but will need some body work has dent in the left rear & in front of the door, hood has some dents, and one dent on the right side of the car but is a dry and rust free body and that is hard to fine in an old Jaguar. If the car is not sold this time out it will be pulled off line and all the body work will be done and the price will go up. This car will also be sold exempt on miles as with a car that is over 20 years it is hard to know if the miles are true or not so sold exempt on miles. You would look a long time to find a project XKE as clean and for the price of this car that runs and drives.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
