This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 is a non-running project that has been stored by the seller for the last four decades. Its 4.2-liter inline-six turns freely, per the seller, and the engine is connected to a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car wears weathered green paintwork over a worn interior with beige leather seating surfaces, and it is equipped with 15″ wire-spoke wheels, knock-off hubs, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The fuel tank is missing, and other noted imperfections include corrosion, missing signal-light lenses, and dings in the bumpers. This XKE 2+2 is now offered with a 1982-dated Missouri safety inspection tag, an owner’s manual, and a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in British Racing Green, although the seller notes evidence of a bodywork up front and a repaint under prior ownership, and the paintwork has worn through on the front hood. Corrosion can be seen, including in the wheel arches and rocker panels, and dings are noted in the bumpers. The right-front signal lenses are missing.
The 15″ wire wheels have knock-off hubs and are wrapped in an older set of radial tires. The car has four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin shows worn leather seating surfaces, corrosion on the seat hardware, missing carpet and trim on the center tunnel, and other signs of wear. A spare wheel and tire are housed beneath an access panel in the rear area.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation, and the five-digit odometer shows 71k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six does not run, although it is said to turn freely, and it reportedly ran when the car was parked approximately 41 years ago. It is equipped with dual Zenith-Stromburg carburetors. The fuel tank was removed under prior ownership.
The three-speed automatic transmission is connected to a limited-slip differential. Corrosion is noted beneath the car.
