Opening bid $7,500, no reserve, no bids yet, 5 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
I can't believe that I'm actually selling this car. It is a 1969 mark 2 E-Type Jag 2+2 in gorgeous British Racing Green. It was restored about 8 years ago by the previous owner. He drove the car to occasional shows and parked it with the rest of his collection the rest of the time. He passed away about five years ago and the car sat for two years before I bought it from his daughter. I changed the oil, installed a new battery, poured some gas in the tank and it fired up after about a minute of cranking. The brakes were out (they're still out) so I trailered it home from Michigan to Texas. I parked it in my warehouse with the rest of my own collection and there it has sat under a cover since then. I know, I should be shot.
Everything under the bonnet is beautiful (no I haven't spent the last week cleaning it up). Even the exhaust manifolds still have all of their original stove enameling on them. The sill, floors, rockers, wheel arches, spare wheel area floor, etc, have no rust that I can find. The only panel on the exterior that needs anything is the center bonnet panel. There are some bubbles under the paint around the louvres on the drivers side that I think are the result of some kind of paint interaction. Plus there are two dents on the same panel courtesy of an unknown assailant while it's been in my warehouse (why doesn't anybody admit to anything any more?).
The chrome is all original and to be honest could use a little freshening in a couple of places. You can see in the pics that it looks great. Now here's the really good stuff. This E-Type has its original FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING, FACTORY POWER STEERING, and the much coveted BORG WARNER automatic transmission. The mileage on the car shows 54,043 and the previous owners duaghter swore that it was genuine. I have a absolutely no reason to doubt this, I also have no way to prove it..
The interior is original black leather and in good condition. Bear in mind that it is 37 years old so obviously doesn't have its out of the factory luster. There are no cracks or splits on any of the interior panels, especially the dash which is perfect as far as I can see, and the carpets are in very good condition. The headliner is original and could use replacing.
There is no hidden reserve on the car at all (I hate hidden reserves). If you bid once and nobody bids against you, you will own the car. We have all seen the value of these irreplaceable E-Types go up and up of late, and the starting bid is set low for a car in this condition.

Current bid $13,300 reserve not met, 5 bids 2 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Trophy winning (9.994/10.000 per JCNA) matching number 1969 E Ttype 2+2 in classic British racing green complete with its Heritage Certificate. It is fitted with factory air and everything works - even the clock. The 2+2 has a wheelbase which is 9" longer than the more common two seater coupe and roadster. This provides much easier entrance and exit along with improved ride and more interior space for luggage, chairs and coolers for car shows. The interior is absolutely beautiful and very close to concourse. Leather is pristine and still has a great aroma and the front seats have new hides. Carpets are excellent. The exterior is also in excellent shape and the paint has an incredible shine. If you look very closely you can notice a few very small and hard to see imperfections in the paint and therefore it is not a 10.000 point concourse level. There are no dings or scratches. The car has a Pertronix electronic ignition installed together with upgraded electric cooling fans making it a great driver. This is a non-smoking car and is stored in my garage in Houston. You would have to spend much more than the very reasonable reserve price to restore an E-Type to this level and it is rare to find a 2 + 2 this clean. Overall this Jag is an exceptionally nice example of a high level driver. Please keep in mind this is a 41 year old vintage car. Perfection in an E-Type can be approached, but it will likely cost you around $75,000.00 or more. This beautiful E-Type can be yours for a small fraction of that amount. In addition to the car, also included in the auction, are the jack, knock off tool with mallet, the driver's handbook and shop manuals. After enjoying this car for many seasons, I am selling the car with plans to move on to a Corvette.
