Ebay item 1/23/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $15,000.00 (Reserve not met), 1 bid, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
My wife and I acquired our 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II in 1980 from our mechanic in Brooklyn, NY with only 25,000 original miles. For the next ten years we took on the task of restoring it to its original beauty. The car was completely taken apart and engine and transmission were overhauled. The body was stripped completely to its bare metal and painted with its original lacquer Midnight Blue color. It was then shipped to G.W. Barlett, Inc. in Muncie, Indiana for a complete original specification Jaguar interior in its original Blue color Connolly Leather, Hardura, Vinyl and Wool Moquette, a new convertible soft top was installed in Blue canvas with its matching boot cover.

Over the summer, the car has been fitted with four brand new tubeless original Dayton wire rims, double ear knockoffs, four tubeless Dunlop GP Sport tires and shock absorbers. Recently the exterior was completely painted with its original Midnight Blue color including corrosion protection by Westchester Classic Cars & Coachwork Ltd. Again, the exterior is in excellent condition with no dents or dings, and brand new paint!

Mechanically the car has been serviced over the past few years by Briarcliff Classics & Imported Car Service Ltd. Prior to that it was serviced by Harvey Luckman Motor Cars Ltd. in NYC and appraised value in May 2, 1997 for $60,000.00 at 33,693 miles (Certificate available). The amount of monies & labor spent into the car for the last 25 years exceeds this amount. Because we have enjoyed our car so much we can say it is as appealing to look as it is to drive. We have a low reserve and wish the highest bidder the same enjoyment.

The car is located in Westchester County, NY where we live and have enjoyed driving the county roads and taking it to many car shows. The current mileage is 37,585 original miles. We only drive the car in the Summer on weekends and its always garaged and covered. The car has never been driven on rainy days or during the winter. The interior is in very good condition and has always been clean and fed with Connolly hide food.

The car is ready to enjoy and be driven but if you're looking to win some show concours you'll need to do some cosmetics to some of the engine components. As stated previously, the paint is brand new and looking superb. A new sound system and antenna would be a plus.
