This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a left-hand drive Series II roadster which was manufactured in August 1968, and was acquired by the seller in 2013 from the estate of a friend who had owned it since 2001. The car has been refinished in red with a black soft top over a tan interior, and power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six which is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox and has been modified with triple SU carburetors, a Lumenition Optronic ignition system, Jet-Hot coated exhaust manifolds, and a stainless steel exhaust system. This XKE is offered with owner’s and service manuals, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, parts receipts, tools, a top boot, spare parts, and a Colorado title in the seller’s name.

The car received a color change from Opalescent Maroon to Honda Red (R63) under previous ownership, and features a black soft top. The seller notes that the paint is older and shows blemishes which can be seen up close in the gallery below.

Chrome 15″ Dayton wire wheels are affixed with Jaguar-branded knock-off spinners and wrapped in Starfire SX5000 tires. The suspension has been refurbished with adjustable coilovers from Team CJ.

Originally trimmed in black, the cabin has been reupholstered in tan leather with matching door panels and carpets. The Series II received updates including headrests, a collapsible steering column, a glovebox door, and plastic toggle switches on the dash. A European-spec radio is fitted in the center stack, while an iSimple TranzIt auxiliary connection module and Kicker amplifier were installed by the previous owner.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 99k miles, of which the seller has added approximately 1k. Total mileage is unknown. Centrally-mounted auxiliary gauges provide readouts for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory-rated at 265 horsepower when new and features polished triple SU carburetors which were reportedly built by Joe Curto. Additional modifications installed between 2001 and 2013 include an aluminum radiator, updated cooling fan motors, a Delco single-wire alternator, a Lumenition Optronic ignition setup, a Team CJ spin-on oil filter adapter, and Jet-Hot coated exhaust manifolds feeding stainless steel piping and mufflers. The water pump is said to have been replaced in 2019, and an oil change was carried out approximately 10 miles ago.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox. The differential is said to have been refurbished under previous ownership, while its output seal was replaced in 2017 according to the seller.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists original colors and component numbers, with the seller stating that the body tag was removed and analyzed using an electron microscope in order to verify the number.

A tool roll, a jack, and a knock-off hammer are included in the sale along with manufacturer’s literature and several parts receipts.
