Total Rotisserie restoration with Martin Robey sheet metal within jigs for accurate alignment. All new metal and paint. Matching numbers car with air conditioning and the original factory option hard top. Every part has been rebuilt or replaced with the original parts. Interior trim is converted to Carbon Fiber but we have saved all the original parts for a complete concours presentation to any new owner.

While all the original parts have been saved for a future "concours" presentation the car is rebuilt to be a driven piece for short trips and car shows. A cutom interior which uses carbon fiber for door panels, "a" pillars and center consol have been added but could be reverted to the originals at any time.

Ebay item 11/6/17
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XK/282722641532
Car has a buy it now price of $155,000 for 6 days, seller jbyron22, 800 miles reported.

Sellers description;
1969 JAGUAR XKE SERIES II ROADSTER

Here is your chance to own, drive and enjoy an E-TYPE THAT IS VIRTUALLY BRAND NEW. Less than 800 miles since completion. Mileage reflects brakes, transmission, engine break-in and three car shows in sunny California. This is not a re-painted project car - or one that uses undercoating to hide rust. Those type of cars are out there and available if you want to spend less on the car and then thousands of dollars more on parts and expensive repairs. Every single part on this car is either new or rebuilt to the highest of standards and at no concern for cost. Well over $60,000.00 in receipts and many hundreds of hours of work by professional restoration shops including R&M motorsports - Novi, Michigan.

This is an ALL NUMBERS MATCHING CAR with Jaguar Heritage Certifications. Factory original hard top, air conditioning components, custom covered headlight conversion, carbon fiber door panels, A-Pillars, center shift console, AND all of the original parts including some spares (4 large boxes full) if you are seeking to enter concour type events.

Never wrecked. Drove well at the start of project several years ago. After stripping all the mechanical components, the car was set-up in a fixture / jig which held all components of the body in the correct position for disassembly. Every panel, sill, floor boards, toe box, trunk and rear quarter panels, nose and fenders were then replaced with accurate Martin-Robey sheet metal from England. A cross car "H" beam was also welded within the frame and sills both sides for added safety and increased body rigidity. As this was an internal addition within the existing floor pan components, it is not visible. With dimensional bracing in place, the body was then transferred into a rotisserie where metal prep, component fixturing and rust preventatives were applied. After these steps, the body was re-aligned in the fixturing jig and panels welded. Automotive spec seam sealants were also applied.

All components were professionally painted before assembly as well as the final top coat finishes. At present the car exhibits some slight paint cracking which could be repaired prior to taking delivery of the car. The bottom of the car received as good of a paint job as the top (see- pictures)

4.2 liter - original block prep STERLING PERFORMANCE Novi, Michigan. Bored .010 over with 10:1 compression pistons. Head re-work by Cleveland Engine Services which specialize in Jag Heads for running unleaded gas. We also added new camshafts with a slight increase in bottom end torque. All moving components were balanced before final assembly. Car prefers premium gas. A current model oil filter is installed but the original is in the spares. Twin carburetors were rebuilt and now use competition type air filters - one each. The original parts are included with the sale. Smooth tube headers and a custom exhaust system feeding twin Stainless Steel out pipes was also added. ( Original exhaust manifolds included in spares. ) Fire is created by a Pertronix Ignition system.

Original matching number 4 speed complete rebuild, lay shaft, bearings, gears and synchro's. Drive shaft end bearing replaced.

Complete IRS rebuild, back lash re-set including carrier bearings, lower trailing arms, suspension bushings, shocks and powder coated springs.

New brales all around including master cylinder, vacuum assist, brake lies rotors, pads, seals.

New wiring harness. All gauges work except the clock (battery not available in California for some reason). The speedometer displays mileage but not speed. Tach is fine.

New tires and spare is also new.

Interior reconditioned original and a spare new steering wheel (wood), new leather seats, foam, on rebuilt frames, seat belts.

CUSTOM MODS:
The present owner manufactures parts in Carbon Fiber and as a result several components of the car are now displayed in Carbon Fiber. ALL of these components can be replaced easily with factory original units on hand or available. INCLUDING: Custom covered headlights can be converted back to Open Series II headlight assemblies including bonnet chrome. This is underway but not reflected in photos. DOOR PANELS, A PILLARS, CENTER CONSOLE, CARPETING (available)

This cat is currently awaiting it's new owner in the Los Angeles, California area. Parts and labor expended were well in excess of the current sellers asking price.

The photo of the gearbox shows a non-original Moss gearbox. Is that the gearbox installed in the car?
Suggested upgrades: 1. All-synchro Jaguar gearbox or 5-speed upgrade. 2. Triple carbs to do justice to the engine upgrades.

2017-11-09 02:14:33 | John S writes:

I doubt that the photo was for this vehicle. They have stated numerous times that it is a numbers matching car. A Moss box transmission would have different numbers identifying it. A full synchro would also be suitable for the upgrades for this motor. No one with any knowledge of Jags would put a Moss box in a 1969.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
