Ebay item 9/4/18
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-4-SPEED-CHROME-WIRE-WHEELS/372421758824
Car has a buy it now price of $34,750 for 3 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, 40k miles.
Seller's description:
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very good E-type Roadster project. This car was just purchased from it's older New York owner who because of his age in life, decided to part with it. The car was being restored over the past years and appears to have come off the road in 1982, with a mere 13 years being driven.
The body on this car appears very decent. A complete new floor section asssembly, front to back, and outer rockers were purchased and installed to a good standard. Panel gapping looks good once everything has been adjusted correctly, and the car only shows some dings and minor dents mostly from years of storage. There are some other replacement Jaguar panels that were purchased as well.
The car's interior looks to be fairly complete with nice condition instruments, switches, dash facia, etc. that would clean up very nicely. An older black soft top is supplied that has not yet been fitted. The windshield needs replacement.
Mechanically, the owner stated that over the years the complete engine and IRS unit had been rebuilt, but a further inspection and proper detailing would be recommended. The car includes a large assortment of parts shown that all belong to the car and are needed for the restoration.
Overall, a very good value Series 2 Roadster in nice original colors that needs improvement. The previous owner gave the car a good start. A desirable and worthwhile project with good investment potential.

The Interior
Black leather upholstery and black trim
New period look radio
The interior of the Jaguar is a very nice place to be as you get down into the car, the black leather seat covers are new as is the dashboard, the centre console and the door cards. The carpets are brand new and the trim pieces around the interior are in good condition too. The radio in the car is a period looking unit with modern adaptability for phone aux input etc.
The Exterior
Restored body shell
New fabric roof
Good condition wire wheels with very good tyres
New tinted windscreen
The exterior of the Jag has been the most focused on area as you’d expect from a car cited as being one of the prettiest to be offered to the general public. After its import from the USA in 2018, the car underwent a rotisserie restoration of the bodywork over a period of time and upon completion was given a respray in British Racing Green.
The wire wheels are in good condition and come with a very good set of tyres, inclusive of the spare in the boot. The roof is a new item as is the tinted wrap around windscreen, the rest of the trim around the car is in good condition and really adds to the overall aesthetic. Also something to note is that little bits like the rubber seals around the car have been replaced with new items.
The Mechanics
Suspension refurbished
Engine stripped, assessed and restored
New exhaust system
Radiator refurbished
4200cc engine
The mechanicals of the E-Type have been gone through quite substantially, the current owner has had the engine head completely restored by commission of a local machine shop. New valves and associated parts, with a head skim to make sure everything fit nice and snug. A refurbishment of the cooling system ensures the big cat stays cool on the road, with a complete re-core or the radiator. Other improvements and refurbishments were afforded for the steering rack which is a new item, along with a refurbishment of the front and rear suspension.
New exhaust system gives the car its iconic straight six roar and to make sure the car’s reliability is increased, a high output battery coupled with a modern alternator means the engine eagerly leaps into life upon the turn of the key. The braking system and transmission has not missed out though and improvements come in the form of a new brake servo, brake master cylinder and clutch master and slave cylinders, as well as an assessment of the rotors and callipers both of which are reported to be adequately up to task.
