This Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Roadster is a wonderfully presented example of the elegant classic British sports car, which benefits from a comprehensive restoration.
Under the sweeping bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre inline-six fed by twin Stromberg carburettors, producing around 265bhp, and driving the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
This example has been with the seller in Greece for three years, and the odometer indicates 98,550 miles.
The Series 2 E-Type featured a number of cosmetic and mechanical changes compared to the previous model, including higher uncovered headlights, improved brakes, the front grille being enlarged, a wrap-around rear bumper, a synchromesh gearbox, and the front indicators and taillights being repositioned.
This E-Type is finished in the charming hue of Pale Primrose with a brown convertible roof, over a black leather-trimmed interior, featuring perforated seat inserts and chrome trim accents.
It rides on a set of 15-inch chrome wire wheels with two-spoke spinners.
The factory specification includes a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, Smiths gauges, heater and ventilation controls, variable speed windscreen wipers, and manually operated windows.
The car comes with the tyre changing tools.
The previously resprayed Pale Primrose paintwork is reported to be in excellent overall condition, though the seller notes a small touched-up chip on the edge of the driver’s door.
Inside, the retrimmed cabin is presented in excellent order, with only very slight signs of use on the seats, a small crack on the steering wheel trim, a missing lever on the heater on/off controls, and a light ‘patina’ on the trim, but no major wear.
The seller is not aware of any mechanical faults, though they do note that there is no radio installed.
This E-Type’s engine was comprehensively rebuilt with all new fluids added, in September 2022 at 98,550 miles.
This Jaguar E-Type Series 2 4.2 Roadster is an appealing example of the iconic classic British open-top sports car, which benefits from comprehensive restorative maintenance. Presented in impressive condition throughout, with a charming Pale Primrose finish, and a vocal inline-six engine coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox, it would make a handsome addition to any collection of iconic British classics, and a wonderful companion for weekend sprints, fair-weather cruises, and classic car show visits alike.

Car sold through the auction for €84,800 (plus fees.)
However seller didnt clarify whether the car is fitted with the factory or a replacement engine.
Neither he responded to various questions through the auction, nor he refers to a matching car through the auction description.
Also he is not referring to a commision plate being present, plus he doest mention having the Heritage certificate.
to my opinion this is not a matching numbers car
