I am a software engineer, as well as being fond of cars. My wife and I have two other Jaguars, a 1983 XJ6 and a 1999 XK8. I drive my E-Type to work most of the time. We also have a 1931 Ford Model A Town Sedan, still in restoration. Updated October 19th, 2003. Not legal proof of ownership. |

I bought this car in June of 2003. Paint is generally nice, except for some dings on
the left side of the cowl. I have replaced
the seat upholstery, top, most window and top seals, the grab bar, front wheel bearings, and the aftermarket radio and antenna, as well as various hoses and belts. I have added the missing boot mat, boot floor board screws, and windshield washer, as well as various missing lamps and the clock battery. Everything now works, although the windshield washer pattern is poor, the synchros in second and third are a little weak, and the idle is still a bit lumpy.
Aside from fixing the paint on the cowl, I also still need to replace the rear bulkhead mat, clean up some wire routing, replace the windshield washer nozzles, replace the last of the door weatherstrips, adjust the windows so they seal correctly at the top,
and repaint the ashtray, steering column lock ring, and choke handle.
I drive the car about 32 miles each way to and from work, about 80% of the time.
After sorting the initial issues, the car has been reliable and fun to drive.
