Ebay item 5/9/11

Current bid $11,452, no reserve, 13 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
One of the cleanest original cars we have had for sale. You are looking at a survivor 1969 Jaguar XKE Roadster. It has been babied and lovingly cared for. This car has a vin number of 1R9700 and is in great shape for the year of automobile this is. It is a repaint and believe the color to be original but no guarantees. The car that has not been hit that we can see, it has the original engine and a header was added. We are unsure if the head is original. In the past 30-35 years, it has been driven in fair weather only, ALWAYS garaged and stored winters, overly maintained, and extremely anal with the vehicle. Note that this car has 76,000 miles, runs and drives tight as you would expect. The top is also excellent. Note there is a bit of light smoke when it fires up, but it clears up after a minute or two.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
