Mr. Twigden of Huntingdon first owned LBB900L. He covered approx. 20,000 miles before selling the car to Laszlo Bela Balsay in January 1977. It is believed that Mr Balsay purchased the car due to the registration mark. He used the car for the next 10 years, with the MOT from June 1987 showing 51,434 miles. The car was then stored.

The present owner purchased the car in April 2010 with 51,471 recorded miles.

The car had a light re-spray in 2010 before the present owner purchased it. The cooling system has been updated with a new radiator and all new hoses which has kept the car cool even in the hottest of weather;. The electronic ignition from the later XJS has been fitted. The original rear brake discs were replaced in April 2015. Other than that the car is mechanically original.

The original interior was French blue, however at some stage the seats had been re-coloured to black. The interior had deteriorated a lot during the time the car was stored, so the interior and hood were replaced in 2011.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
