This Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Roadster is a vibrant and impressive example of the iconic open-top classic British sports car, which benefits from a previous comprehensive rebuild and upgrade by Vicarage Limited.
Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 5.3-litre V12, now with fuel-injection, driving the rear wheels via a Getrag five-speed manual transmission.
As confirmed by its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, this Series 3 E-Type was originally fitted with an automatic transmission, and was dispatched in January 1973.
The car has now been with the seller and seventh owner for nearly four years.
The odometer shows 6,864 miles, however this is not warranted.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This E-Type Series 3 Roadster was originally finished in Regency Red with a Biscuit leather-trimmed interior, but is now presented in Signal Red with a black convertible roof, over black leather upholstery, featuring a full leather Vicarage re-trim, including all-leather seats, door cards and centre console as well as the Vicarage wood trim specification to the dashboard, door cards and steering wheel.
It rides on a set of 15-inch chrome wire wheels with spinners, shod in Pirelli P4000 SuperTouring tyres.
The factory specification includes a three-spoke steering wheel, Smiths gauges, a Kienzle analogue clock, a locking glove compartment, and heater and ventilation controls.
Modifications include a fuel injection system, a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox, uprated brakes, steering and suspension with adjustable shock absorbers, poly bushes, a full stainless-steel exhaust system, a Kenwood CD stereo, an alloy radiator, additional fans, an immobiliser, making this a highly specified car.
A rare factory hardtop with inbuilt glass sunroof is also included in the sale, giving the car year-round versatility.
The car comes with the spinner removable tool, a tonneau cover, the V5C, two production record trace certificates from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, a breakdown of the rebuild and upgrades from Vicarage Limited, photos from a major restoration in the 1980s, the owner’s manual and service booklet, a copy of Jaguar World magazine with a feature on the car, a wiring diagram, and two folders containing extensive maintenance invoices, documentation, and photos from the older restoration and the Vicarage rebuild.

The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults and advises that the car drives faultlessly on the road with no rattles, squeaks or clunks.
The car’s last MOT test was on 11 December 2018 at 6,622 miles, resulting in a clean, first-time pass. This vehicle is now believed to be exempt from mandatory MOT testing as it is more than 40 years old.
A recent inspection by a leading workshop at Bicester Heritage resulted in a ‘clean bill of health’ giving confidence to the new purchaser to drive and enjoy this wonderful E-type Jaguar immediately.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
