For sale on auction at collectingcars.com
Current bid €48000
Describtion from the seller.
KEY FACTS
A handsome example of the Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 Roadster, which has been partially refurbished.
Under the bonnet is a 5.3-litre V12, which delivers 275PS to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox.
A 1973 model right-hand-drive car, it was later kept by a single keeper between 1979 and 2015, and is now offered from the custody of a car dealer in Uppsala, Sweden.
The odometer shows 67,886 km.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This E-Type is finished in the classic hue of Opalescent Dark Green, complemented by a black Mohair soft-top as well as a rare body-coloured hardtop, over a Cinnamon leather-trimmed interior.
It rides on a set of 15-inch wire wheels, shod with Maxxis M+S tyres.
Inside, it has a wood-trimmed three-spoke Moto-Lita steering wheel, Smiths dials, a Kienzle analogue clock, a row of rocker switches for the major controls, and a locking glovebox.
Accompanying the vehicle will be a collection of maintenance, inspection, and registration documents dating back to September 1977.
CONDITION
Please refer to the photo gallery to assess exterior and interior condition.
The seller is not aware of any mechanical or electrical faults.
SERVICE HISTORY
A new Mohair soft-top was fitted in 2016.
Around €30,000 is said to have been spent on cosmetic and mechanical improvements, including rust repair work. Upgrades and alterations were made to the radiator, exhaust system, brake callipers, brake pads, clutch, starter motor, and ignition.
SUMMARY
The Jaguar E-Type is an instantly recognisable classic British sports car, mating Malcolm Sayer-designed bodywork with, in this example, a powerful V12 engine. Having been partially refurbished, this Series 3 Roadster would make a fine addition to a collection of landmark classic cars, as well as a delightful fair-weather cruiser.
