Ebay item 3/27/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid was $30,000, seller pulled the auction.

Sellers description:
Un-restored all original '72 Jaguar E-Type Convertible w/ 29,000 original miles. Everything is original and numbers matching. Completely rust free California car, still has the California plates on it from the last time it was registered. $8000.00 was just spent on having the engine and mechanics completely gone through and it runs excellent. You wont be disappointed. The car is located less than 1 miles from the Cincinnati International Airport, you could fly in and drive it home if you choose.

The Engine runs excellent. It has the 5.3L V-12 engine. No issues. It fires right up. It is all original except for the plugs, wires, coil and battery of course. Needs nothing.

The Transmission shifts good. I have found no issues with it, Shifts just like it should.

The Drivetrain is good. Tires are good. It drives straight. It feels tight. No strange noises or issues. The braking system was gone through and works great. The suspension is original and was found to have no issues. No rust.

The Interior is great. Its all original, and in good condition. The leather is great. The dash has no cracks. All the gauges work. The door panels are excellent. The boot release works. The convertible top and top frame is excellent and works with no issues. The carpet is clean and it has the original floor mats in good shape. All the lights work. The heat works. The e-brake works. You will not be disappointed with the interior its near perfect. It has the original wire wheel spare tire w/ the original Michelin tire. There is a slight issue with the driver seat, when you move the back of the seat the lever does not always catch immediately, but if you play with it it will catch, needs a little attention.

The Exterior is good. It has the original paint on it and is not with out it's flaws as it is 40 years old, however as you can see in the pics it is in good over all condition, and shines beautifully, with a few scratches and a few blemishes. It has a spot on the rear deck in front of the trunk lid right in the middle, see pic, which I would say is one of its biggest flaws, it appears to me to be cracked paint, about a half dollar in size. Its other biggest flaw in the paint is around where the hard top sits, but that is to be expected, it has some small light scratching, I would say 3 to 4 noticeable spots. Other than that it may have 1 or 2 other tiny blemishes just from being 40 yr old paint, but again its in great condition for its age. The body is rust free, dent free, ding free. The chrome shines nicely. The wheels are beautiful. The convertible top is great, never been in the elements what so ever, no issues with it. It comes with a Hard Top, the hard top is in good condition. The car has never seen rain, underneath is rust free. The exhaust is good. The Jaguar is not 100% all original as I previously thought. It does in fact have a 6 carburetor intake set up, for performance, which is not factory. It also has been front bumper deleted I don't know how that escaped my mind when I was listing it, but I definitely think it adds to the beauty of the car.

The Vin tag reads:
Car No. 1S20142
Engine No. 7S5306SB
Body No. 4S1324
Gear Box No. KL2439

The carburetors are Weber.
Also, I was asked about the exhaust, it is not stainless through out, it only has the stainless tips welded on, its in good shape. I was asked about any little oil leaks, I just put it up on the lift and it was dry, no oil was found to leak or seep anywhere.

Car has a buy it now price of $42,500 for 9 days. Car now said to be in Cincinnati, Ohio so probably why previous auction was pulled early.

Sellers description:

Engine: runs excellent. Has 5.3L V12 with no issues. All original except for Weber 6 carburetor intake set up and stainless exhaust tips, plus wires, coil and battery of course.

Transmission: Manual 4-speed, shifts perfect.

Drivetrain: good, tires good, etc. Braking system was gone through and works great. The suspension is original and has no issues or rust.

Interior: great interior, all original and all in excellent condition, including original car mats. The leather is great except for a stain on the console between the two seats. The dash has no cracks and all gauges work. Door panels are excellent and boot release works fine. The convertible top and top frame are excellent and work without issue. You will not be disappointed with the interior as it is near perfect. It has the original wire wheel spare tire with the original Michelin tire.

Exterior: Very good. Original sable paint with a few small flaws after 40+ years. It has a small spot on the rear deck in front of the trunk lid, right in the middle that appears to be cracked paint about the size of a half dollar. To me the colours look more like Sable and Cinnamon. Cheers!
