    Sellers description:
1972 Jaguar E-type Series III V12 OTS. Good example with proper maintenance and best options are very hard to find.

This Jaguar had same owner since 1974, benefited from a long term loving west coast ownership and comes with Jaguar Heritage Certificate #40544 - Numbers Matching E Type.

A wonderful color combination of Primrose exterior with the lovely biscuit compliments the exterior very nicely. This is one of the best color combinations and ads to the elegance of the V12's appearance. The dash is in excellent condition with all the gauges and functions working normal. Stunning just to look at.

This E Type was fully serviced by world renowned Jaguar expert Ed Grayson at Consolidated Auto Works. This Jaguar performs as it should and looks fantastic. Fitted with chrome wire wheels this car turns heads everywhere. It sounds and drives as only a well-prepared V-12 can. Enjoy it. Drive it and watch it appreciate in value.

Excellent damage free body has had one high quality repaint in the original attractive Primrose color. Paint has excellent gloss and depth. The top has been replaced and the chrome is in good condition showing only slight wear. The seats have been redone with vinyl and still look hansom. Carpet is tired but original while the door panels look great and fit well.

Engine is in top tune and ready to drive anywhere. I have paperwork of all the work performed this month by Consolidated Auto Works totaling $9,000. Most V-12 Jags are not set up correctly and it makes a difference in the experience This one runs, drives and sounds, as it should.

Starts and runs smoothly and the exhaust makes those sounds only a V12 can generate. The gear engages smoothly and transmission shifts nicely. The suspension is a little soft but absorbs bumps nicely. This particular Jaguar accelerates quickly as these vintage cars can. This is a car that is very easy to drive has excellent brakes that stop it true and straight. The V12's longer wheelbase gives a great ride quality and allows a longer door that makes entering and exiting the car much easier. Easy to drive around town, but really comes into its own on long tours where the power and torque can be fully explored. The V12 was always a pleasure to drive and I looked forward to the trip due to the excellent road manners of these vintage sports cars.

This is a wonderful E-type Series III OTS.

The Iconic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2024 - Collectors' Car Sale

    1972 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 Roadster

This delightful, left-hand drive, Primrose Yellow Series 3 V12 Roadster has clearly led a cherished life.

On offer here is a delightfully original, matching numbers, left-hand drive S3 V12 Roadster built in 1972 for the US-market, fitted with the smooth automatic gearbox and finished in Primrose Yellow. Despatched to British Leyland, New York in June 1972, it remained in the US before being spotted and purchased by our vendor in Oregon, returning to the UK in May 2015. The car has been the pride and joy of our enthusiast vendor and that shines through with quality evident throughout. The only deviation from its original specification is the black leather interior to match the roof, replacing the original Cinnamon interior, as confirmed by the Jaguar Heritage Certificate.

This S3 Roadster presents exceptionally well and appears to have been particularly well maintained, a testament to the previous owners. The ownership history is documented as follows:

1972-1974 Unknown car dealer in Portland, Oregon

    1974-2004 Theresa Burns, Portland, Oregon

2004-2010 Unknown owner, located in Portland, Oregon

    2010-2015 Abed Farhan, Portland, Oregon

    2015-2024 our vendor, West Sussex

The once not so desirable external colour of Primrose Yellow somehow now appears to fit the bill, even more so when paired with the new black leather interior, giving the Jaguar a certain nostalgic appeal, and even the automatic gearbox ticks the boxes and adds to the feel of a gentle 'Grand Tourer'.

This Jaguar has clearly been exceptionally well-cared for with no expense spared, with maintenance carried out as and when required, not only under present ownership but, from the overall condition, since it rolled off the production line in 1972.

Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the overall quality of this lovely Series 3. There is plenty of summertime remaining to enjoy some top-down motoring and, it may be over 50 years old, but burble down your High Street in a Primrose E-Type and there aren't many heads that won't turn.
