Car to be at auction 6/13
    www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

    Auction description:
    Lot 155 - 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Roadster
    Estimate: £55,000 - £60,000
    Registration Number: TPD 10M
    Chassis Number: ISZ186BW

The E-type on offer here today has had just four owners from new and today is presented in fine fettle. Restored in the Early 1990's, with photographs on file, the car won Best In Show at the final Bristol Exhibition Halls in 1994. Still resplendent finished in red coachwork and a detailed engine bay it is offered with a good history file containing a wide variety of bills and receipts and previous MoTs.

With E-types reaching new highs almost on a monthly basis, this automatic V12 specification car represents excellent value. The improved performance over the earlier siblings offers a package that will surely push desirability onwards and upwards for the foreseeable future. Offered with a very realistic reserve and consequently not to be missed.

    August 30, 2014 auction
    Lot 284 - 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster
    Registration TPD 10M
    Chassis Number 1S2186BW
    Engine Number 7S12689SB
    Odometer reading 34,243 miles
    Estimate £65,000 - £75,000

This is a genuine UK righthand drive example that was originally registered on 6th September, 1973 and has only had four former keepers. Restored at some stage, although little is known when or by whom, TPD 10M is a splendid example of these increasingly popular E-Types. The V12 engine sounded 'exactly as she should' on our test drive and performed well, as did the automatic transmission; the rest of the car performed equally well with no obvious faults. Finished in red with biscuit leather trim and complemented by a sparkling set of chrome wire wheels, this Series III roadster is in excellent all-round condition. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a full years' MoT test certificate, this classically dynamic design is still a head turner.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
