This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster was initially delivered to British Motor Car Distributors in San Francisco, California, and is said to have remained with its first owner in the state until it was acquired by the seller in 2014. The car was then relocated to Nebraska, and a subsequent refurbishment was carried out between 2014 and 2018. Power is provided by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in yellow over black leather and equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a retro-style head unit, and air conditioning in addition to a black soft top and matching top boot, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, and quadruple carburetors. This Series III E-Type is now offered at no reserve with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean Nebraska title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Pale Primrose and was refinished in Primrose Yellow following bodywork and the replacement of a portion of the firewall sheet metal as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. It is equipped with a black soft top and matching top boot, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, and a power antenna.
Wire-spoke 15″ wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and mounted with 215/70 Michelin Symmetry tires. The power steering rack was rebuilt during the refurbishment. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The interior was refreshed with black leather upholstery covering replacement seat cushions, and the carpets were also replaced. A retro-style head unit and air conditioning are equipped.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 2,400 miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter V12 was resealed as part of the refurbishment, and the quadruple Stromberg carburetors were rebuilt.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission a limited-slip differential. The transmission was rebuilt under current ownership.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to British Motor Car Distributors of San Francisco, California as well as factory options and a total price of $9,553.
